What Is Actually Happening This Saturday?

I keep reading on this forum that there will be themed weeks in this years X Factor, yet I haven't heard any "official" news on this. Can anyone confirm this?

I also read about guest judges, Simon has been interested in the idea for years, but there was no trailer at the end of last weeks show. Is Lionel Richie there this week? Will there be guest judges other weeks?

My sky guide says Lionel Richie is on the show on Saturday - but you're right it does seem odd they're not advertising it

I too read (on teletext ) that Lionel Richie was going to be a guest judge on this weeks show, but haven't heard it mentioned anywhere since, not even on these forums which is unusual. Perhap's they're going to unveil him as a major suprise on Saturday...they'll have time for the build up, it is a two hour show!

Yes, there are going to be guest judges this year definitely, I imagine one of the reasons is to try and help stop a repeat of last year happening (Maria getting the boot over the Conways, and also the voting out of spite etc.) and secondly ratings.

Other rumored guest judges are Rod Stewart (he let slip by accident according to various reports and websites), Beyonce, Elton John, Julio Iglesias, Paula Abdul and two people from Abba sorry i don't know their names.

Robbie Williams, Westlife and Elton John have been mentioned aswell, but i'm not sure if the reports meant to help mentor a category each (like Kian of Westlife is doing already anyway) or to be actual judges.

I believe there are themes too.

It's going to be like "Pop Idol" all over again! *Holds head in shame*

Hopefully, what is actually happening this Saturday is that we will finally get to hear the finalists sing properly!

All we've had thus far is lots of heavily edited snippets; I'm looking forward to actually hearing some proper performances.

Let's hope we get that - it is a long show,(2hrs + result show) please don't fill it with Ms Thornton telling us what is "coming up" repeatedly...

Then we will be in a better position to judge them, rather than all theses half-baked opinions being largely based on people's appearance or behaviour! (But, hey, I enjoy that as much as the next FM!!)

I have heard in several places that Lionel Ritchie is to appear this week.

it seems odd that we have no Xtra Factor yet to hint at what some of them are singing!

to be honest if there was going to be any sort of theme on saturday we definitely would have heard about it by now. i've seached for a good 20 minutes on google and there is nothing regarding a theme for saturday. Maybe there will be themes thought out the series but i just think Lionel Richie is a guest (maybe singing and sharing his opinions on the contestants) but i can't see anything else happening this week.

Well... I've got to clean out the garage, and wash the car.
I'm hoping to get some time in on the xbox as well.
Oh and probably be watching the X-Factor while having tea.

I hope it's not a "Lionel Richie Night" where they all sing his songs, that could hurt various people and be generally crap as I like about 2 Lionel songs but I don't want the contestants to sing them.

I do hope however that they hold a Christmas themed show closer to Xmas just like they did in Pop Idol, that was fun!
