Saw my 1st Xmas decorated house today

I was strolling to the local shopping centre when summat caught my eye on the opposite side of the road.
A house with a huge Xmas tree in the window, a window sill full of Santas, lights and tinsel everywhere.
I was so astonished as I kept walking gawping at the site that I nearly walked into a lampost.

Local shopping centre now has it's Grotto installed along with tree and lights twinkling away.

I know there are threads complaining about the early start in shops but has anyone else seen Xmas starting early in houses?

I'm just waiting for my first Easter Egg sighting now

The people across from us have had their lights up for the past few weeks, I wouldn't mind except that the outside ones flash into our house at night and they look so tacky

Doesn't surprise me that the local shopping centre has its decorations out - it is mid-November, and many people will be well into their Christmas shopping.

As for decorated houses, I've seen at least 5 in my local area - and 1 of them has had theirs up since the end of September!

I've put my xmas tree up already, as it's only fibreoptic.

My dad seems a little more keen on christmas this year than last. I suppose he thinks since he's getting older he may as well make the most of it and stop moaning for 5 minuets.

It doesn't look tacky on a "million pound house", it's done tastefully, and big houses look attractive anyway.

I refer you to the wizards of winter (i am sure its been posted a million times already...)

Someone down my parents road had a massive blow up scooby doo dressed as santa in the front garden a few years back. With it not being on an estate and very respectable houses it did not go down well at all!! It amused me.

You can also get "million pound houses" on estates these days too you know!!

I like my decorations tasteful though, I must agree!
