Mammoth in Trafalgar Square

The Natural History Museum has placed a lifesize replica of a woolly mammoth in Trafalgar Square, to show the possible consequences of global warming and climate change over the next 50 years in Britain.. Also on show are a hippo tusk, found in Trafalgar Square itself, a woolly mammoth tooth and a stone age implement.

Does anyone know how long it is due to be there? Do youlike going to see special events like this? Did yousee the walking elephant in London recently?

As a believer in evolution rather than Creationism, doesn't it take a bit longer than 50 years for a new species to evolve?

You have, and I know the one you mean - it just isn't attractive, I'm afraid, I'd rather have the mammoth any day!

We'll get mammoths back? Cool! Why does no one ever spell out these kinds of benefits to global warming? Do we get to nominate species we can bring back? I'm voting for those giant flightless carniverous birds that used to rule the South American pampas.

Velociraptors are quite cute, but they'll never replace the budgie.
