Neighbours in London - article (including river city news!)

NewsLondon CallingTue 14th November 2006

Although the Posh and Beck rumours proved to be unfounded, Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy) and Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kinski) still had a Spice Girls experience while recently filming some special London based episodes of Neighbours.

Over in the UK a whole team of special guest stars were delighted to join the unusual shoot, including Posh's old band mate Emma Bunton. She was joined by a diverse line-up of British stars including Julian Clary and Michael Parkinson. The episodes also star former Footballer's Wives actor Daniel Schutzmann in a role not a million miles away from Earls Park player Salvatore Biagi.

As our exclusive pictures show, London itself is also something of a star. Karl and Susan take in some of the most famous city landmarks, including scenes shot in a pod on the London Eye and outside Buckingham Palace.

We can't reveal too much about why the happy couple find themselves in the UK, or who else they run into while they're there, but rest assured these are episodes you won't want to miss. They'll air in Australia early next year but English fans will have to wait a good six months to see their capital's cameo.

Jackie and Alan had a packed schedule while they were in Britain. Not only did they have to shoot around the bustling London traffic but they also had a packed publicity schedule full of press, radio and TV interviews.

However, it wasn't all hard work. The team also got to glam up and attend the National Television Awards. Although nominee Neighbours didn't win the Most Popular Daytime category, the show was still strongly represented. Jackie and Alan were joined by a couple of their much missed former colleagues who happened to be in the area: Natalie Bassingthwaite (Izzy Hoyland) and Blair McDonough (Stu Parker).
