If MacDonalds win, will this be the end of X Factor?

How can the show go on? This isn't Big Brother where the winner doesn't really matter. If such dross was to win, how could the show seriously continue. Whatever people say about it always being a farce, at least the talented people had won out in the end before this series.

And, with Simon earning so much in the US from Idol, and his own TV shows, would he really be that bothered about leaving X Factor behind?

I think if that happens, we will see how much of a joke the public have made of it.

It will be the dawn of a new era - The MacDonald era. X Factor will go from strength to strength if they win!

This show is going as I predicted a couple of months ago. The media & public have turned on it & on Simon in particular. I remember being told I was wrong but time has proven different.

How is it a joke? 500 Miles was sensational they deserve to win. It was the best performance of the entire series

I quite like the MacDonald Brothers, they are nice lads and I don't think that they are as bad as what every says they are. I thought they were boring at first but now they are getting better every week and I really enjoyed their second song tonight.

Stupidity or amazingly unfortunate typo?

I dunno whether it would finish the X Factor, I mean after Steve and Shane and what they've done...yea ok this would be worse, but they haven't exactly been setting the charts alight as it is.

Steve Brookstein and Shane Ward aren't exactly big stars, so what does it matter who wins?

Sanity will come to the viewers senses. They won't make it to the final. The only way they would make it to the final is if The Leona, Ben, Ray fans decided not to vote because they think "They won't need the votes"

IMO, they won't win, clearly sections of the public find them amusing, but maybe when the final comes, they will see sense.

Whether its Leona or Ben in the final, it could get the most votes for years, with a backlash against The MacDonalds from all those who have lost their more talented favourites throughout the series.

To me and this is just my opinion, the fact that someone like Ben and Eaton road were even in the bottom two while the macdonald brothers went through is a complete travesty.

Yes. After 1 failed winner there's a chance of recovery but after 2...it's time to put it to bed.

Bring back Pop Idol!

Different strokes for different folks....

I thought Ben massacred that song, personally. Truly awful.

Nobody will top Robert's 'Always and Forever' IMO.

If Michelle McManus can win Pop Idol, then McD brothers definately can win XFactor.

That was a good performance but I thought that was down to the history behind that song. I loved Smile *melts*

I agree. If McDonalds or Ray wins this show it will be a complete and utter travesty. Ben or Leona have to win otherwise The X Factor may not be back for another series. Why on earth do people keep voting for either a Kareoke Double Act or an overrated Panto star to win the show when we have Ben and Leona.

Ben being in the bottom 2 tonight- pathetic.

If the McD's win, then it will show that two ordinary genuine people can win ..... not just those planks put into the show by various agencies, etc .....

A good thing in my view!!

The Macdonalds must be bad

to cause this much outrage. I dont work in the music indusrty but Simon who does and Sharon who does thinks they should not be in the show,

They wont win the show though,
when it comes down to the final there will be 3 people,
Prob

Leona
Ben
and the Mcdougle bros.

When Ben goes the people who have been voting for Ben will vote for Leona as i am sure they wont want people without talent and a singing voice to win.
I could go out now and within an hour could find 10 better singers working in Pubs, And 3 of them would be Elvis's

To be fair, i think Leona and Ben will get recording contracts anyway, if they don't win. But Ray and the Mcd's i don't think will get offered one if they don't win. if i had to choose an act out of The Mcd's and Ray to get one as well and Leona and Ben, it would be the Mcd's because i think they have a better recording voice.

I don't think it would be the end of x-factor but it would certainly be embarrasing. I think cynicswould laugh that the Macdonalds are the best talent the US has to offer, then again steve was never that great. Shayne had potential but he was given seriously awful material.
