Special 6 episode week on Corrie (detailed spoilers)

I found these on a forum so I don't know if they are true ... but they are similar to the official spoilers
Quote:
spoiler:
This week Corrie is set to have one of its most dramatic and show-turning weeks yet with a bumper six episode run which sees the exit of Danny Baldwin and the arrival of Carla Connor.

As the repercussions of the canal fight hit Frankie, Danny catches up with her and thinks that now they are even - both have been hurt - they can start afresh. She soon puts him in his place, and later tells Jamie she thinks Danny will soon move on. However, Danny is in a dark place and consumed with upset, drives to a secluded viaduct. After coming dangerously close to acting out his dark thoughts, Danny returns to the street and, after a confronation with Liam, breaks down in tears. Liam grows concerned about Danny, and rightly so; Danny returns to the viaduct and drops an empty bottle of whiskey to fall to the depths, seriously considering it being him next. Again, he manages to regain himself and return to Weatherfield but almost out of nowhere, he scrambles into the Street and waits for Jamie. When his son finally arrivess, Danny orders him into the car. Danny slams his foot down and drives off extremely fast. He finally stops at the viaduct, for the third time in the week. Danny stands at the edge of the viaduct and commands Jamie to let Frankie go - or he'll jump. Jamie refuses to do so, and on request joins Danny on the edge. Events rapidly get out of hand and Jamie realises only he will return to Weatherfield after what is set to be one of the scenes of the year.

* Cilla is told she has cancer and has to have an operation. Unfortunately Les sleeps with Yana before he gets the news. The family gather at her bedside before she goes under the knife as Les feels immense guilt.

* Tracy continues to manipulate Claire and by the end of the week Charlie is suspicious of what Tracy is up to.

* The Underworld Christmas party gets underway, and Carla Connor arrives, instantly making her presence felt.

Sounds good !!!!! Carla Conner sounds great

A week with extra episodes...

Well they were due one and were bound to have one. I'm only surprised it hasn't happened sooner and is only a 6 episode week instead of the usual 8. This is the time of year when they put these extra episodes on usually around I'm A Celeb...because ITV need to boost their dismal overall share. It's good to do see them doing it with a good mix of programming.

Really this is nothing 'different' as recently we've had a few Fridays that have had extra episodes. I'm more surprised that they haven't had the usual 8 episode week yet.

I do not want to see Les Battersby getting off with anyone, that in itself is fiction

Sadly this scenario isn't exactly fiction; the Jeremy Kyle show is full of ugly stupid people just like Batteredbrain who breed more ugly stupid people. (The sort of idiots who spend small fortunes phone The Mint.)

Yes, unfortunately I think it is gradually being edged in and will soon end up being a permanent fixture.

I hope not, Corrie is on far too much as it is. I think they should gradually faze out the Monday second episode.

While the content sounds amazing, 6 episodes is not what is needed to carry them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed it. Corrie is already on far too much. I mean, five episodes a week? We've grown used to it but it is madness.

They should be dropping at least one episode, if not two - not adding extra episodes.

Six episodes - this screams overkill!

They seem to be starting and finishing one storyline per week now. What's the point? There should never be more than one episode on an evening.

It has all been said and discussed to death.

ITV will not reduce the number of Coronation Street episodes anytime soon.

I agree, some brilliant stuff going on at the moment, Tracy/Charlie, Framie, the arrival of Carla Connor, the Cilla storyline...it's all good, really don't know why they have to add on extra episode though.

I think the Friday episodes are the climax of the Baldwin storyline and are
spoiler:
the last we see of Danny.
