Swansea University/Swansea - General Discussion

Anyone been/going to Swansea Uni? Or lived in swansea/visited Swansea?

Im going there this septemeber...

Was meant to go to Bournemouth, but didnt get in, Swansea was my reserve... whats peoples experience of Swansea??

I loved the way how friendly people there were! And everywhere was nice and close... but the major downfal was it looked a little dreary and grey (mainly due to every house being painted grey!)

Whats the nightlife there? do you get the full Uni experience by going to Swansea??

I don't know a lot about it but I do have a friend there and all I can say is that he absolutely loves it. He doesn't even miss London so the city & nightlife must be OK.

I'm from swansea, it depends on the area you live, some places will be dreary and grey, but some places are decent. As for the nightlife, you cant go wrong (bar a few numpty's )............cant tell you much about the UNI at the minute, my brother went, but he's not here to ask......but he had a laugh I know that much

As for the friendly people, its like anywhere else, 50% kind and friendly, 50% scum bag chav's.

Well I found everyone there lovely! Even some of the "chavvy" ones, when we were lost and needed directions, people were more than happy to help us!

Swansea is Great and the nightlife is as well,

and then not so far away you have the mumbles,

dont know much about the uni's though,
but from there you can have weekends in Ireland.

My sister and her hubby went to Swansea Uni. Both loved it, had great times. I like Swansea, it's on the beach and the Gower is lush. The nightlife is...achem....quite lively

I left Swansea Uni in June & am missing the Uni & Swansea loads...you'll have a great time..

As for nightlife, there's basically a whole road that runs parallel to the high street (the name escapes me) that's filled with great pubs (highly recommend The Potters Wheel) & clubs such as Flares, Jumpin Jacks, Time, Envy etc...

There's also Wind Street which is a street that runs off the main high street (about 2 mins from McDonalds if on your visit you went into the town). Again down there is nothing but pubs & clubs..
