what is the best quality cable from Sky HD box to DVD recorder?

I have used the HDMI socket to connect to the TV so at the moment I am using a cheap scart cable to connect to the DVD recorder - so the difference in quality is quite a lot - what would be the best way to send the best quality signal from my Sky Hd box to my DVDrecorder (HXD860)

Your DVD is not HD it is only 576i this will not give you the same quality as your TV can display.

You need to get a HD-DVD or a blueray recorder so that you can record the HD signal in its full quality.

The 2006 award winner was the QED P21 P2120

Cost should be about £22-£27

A good £40 one would be the minimum I would spend, IXOS, QED.

Especially if you plan to keep some recordings, when you play them back on your nice TV the difference will be worth it.

But you'll still only be able to record over the Scart, which is lower quality than DVD in any case.

its not far away though and you would be struggling to see any difference if using half decent scart

But I can certainly see the difference in a transmission from Sky over Scart and a pre-recorded DVD over component.
