More stoooopid BBC London news

First story......

Westminster Coroners Court discuss the case of the Harvey Nichols worker who was murdered by ex lover. Presenter tells us the story we then cross live to our reporter standing outstide...wait for it.....Harvey Nicholls!!

Why? Isn't the case at Westminster Coroners Court? Yep. Perhaps the reporter needs to go shopping after her pointless report which merely repeats what the presenter has already told us! Completely pointless. How much did that cost to get a film crew and reporter to stand outside Harvey Nichols???

Story 2

Couple's lost luggage finally turns up. It's a bit wet. The book inside is soggy. Stop the front page! Soggy book in bag shock! Couple claim the book is irreplaceable! Errrr well if its irreplaceable why did you put it in the hold luggage ya idiots!!!! Is this news??????? Claim on your insurance like everyone else ya prats.

Story 3

Women aren't getting directorships of companies......tedious story thats not really a London story. Interesting to see however, that the Equal Opportunities Commission appears to be staffed entirely by women bar one man!

Who is to blame for all this the presenter asks? Who cares? I ask.

Story 4

Gene testing. Do you want to know if you will be ill in the future? Sorry, what's this got to do with London? Oh the office offering the tests is in the road next to BBC London's studios! Another few minutes filled by just popping round the corner!

Story 5

4 x 4's to pay more to park in Lambeth. Interesting.

Story 6

London Boat Show. Yes, most viewers in London will be rivetted about spending £100,000 on a boat.

Story 7

Muslim leaves London to live in Egypt. One can only imagine what most viewers think of that. Oh and a free holiday for a reporter in Egypt one assumes.

Story 8

Londoner writes novel about music industry. The revelation? Lots of people in music used coke. Shocker?!

Lost the will to watch the rest and switch off........

Trouble is here in London we have the choice of the middle class-twee BBC London (some crappy small theatre didn't get funding - is there not more pressing news in the Capital?)

Or the Daily Mail sponsered ITV London News - "You will die - Shock Horror! and Muslims are at fault!"

I HATE all regional news. In fact, I hate everything produced by all the newsgroups as it's just brainwashing bullsh*t.

I do enjoy Dazzerukuk's reports of the idiocy of BBC London news, although it should be said that that murder did actually take place at the Harvey Nichol's store. Anyway, let me indulge in a bit of devil's advocacy by wondering whether they have an excuse for their output being even more pointless than the parochial drivel provided by, say, Midlands Today, in that many of the things that happen in London are, like it not, of national and sometimes international importance. So national news nabs a lot of good stories from London local, leaving them with the utter dregs.

I know that the murder took place at the store....months ago. There was no point in the reporter being there.....its just pretty background for the reporter to repeat everything already said by the presenter.

It's the same when the 9 oclock news crosses to Buckingham Palace for a reporter to tell us what William's girlfriend is thinking. What's he doing there?! Is the Queen going pop out and give an interview? Lol....it's just twaddle!

at least you GET news, up here in scotland the main item on both Glasgow Today and Reporting Glasgow was about some stupid muppet who managed Rangers footie team getting the sack, when just a few hours earlier a coach carrying scottish tourists home overturned killing 2 sadly and all we got about that was a few seconds of the coach and the fact that some one had died in it, then it went back to the stupid rangers story.
At least BBC London DOES cover major news items like the coach crash in full, up here football is more important than anything else according to the glasgow centric news crap we are fed on a daily basis.

My deepest sympathy to the families of those who sadly died in the coach crash.

I suppose we could have some soberly dressed newsreader recounting the day's events to us from an unspecified location. Kind of like they did in the fifties.

Let's face it, they've got to jazz it up a bit today. I agree that their attempts to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear can be laughable.
