We Should ALL Be Ashamed

I have searched for a suitable forum to air my views so here goes:-

As the Big Brother issues rumble on is it not time we looked at the bigger picture? Should we not now take the focus off of one person who is probably most ill equiped to handle what is being thrown at her by the baying crowds. She will need all the help she can get to keep whatever sanity she has been left with. Self inflicted all this may be but still health threatening. HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOU GET IT WRONG BIG TIME!!

LIST OF SHAME

JADE: Should be ashamed, is ashamed and unlike the rest of us has had to face her behaviour being played back. Not only to herself, but to millions who are sitting in judgement
Have YOU ever attended a traing course where every word you speak, and every move you make is recorded on video and played back to you? Worse still in front of other delegates? TERRIFYING!!
Could you have handled yourself half as well as Jade, had you have been in her shoes?
Bullying is rife in the work place and the biggest culprits are senior managers and directors who still manage BY FEAR!! Bullying is rife on the streets where gang culture dictates. Same issues, different class.
Are you one of them?

Before YOU judge, consider how will your own PERSONAL video look when presented to you at heavens door??
If there is a God and a heaven, I will be cringing with shame.

JADE'S FAMILY: Particularly her mother who brought her daughter up with years of unchecked behavioural problems and in an environment full of confrontation.
OTHER HOUSEMATES: Forget the Jade babes, they will pay their own prices. What about the others who did not intervene. As guilty as the rest of 'em in my opinion.
THE AGENTS: Should never have advised her to go back into the house. They should have nurtured her into a more sophisticated way of self promotion.
CHANNEL4. Should be ashamed for setting up these situations knowing full well they are in danger of turning nasty or explicit. Listen to people in the media when they talk of pushing back the boundries. They can now reap their rewards because the word boundries often is mistaken for decency.
THE PRESS: For becoming the BULLY and being HYPOCRITICAL. They are now themselves a bunch of educated professionals attacking an ill educated woman who got "lucky" then blew it.
One newspaper railed against Jade then ran a two page article about in their words "FREAKS"
In fact they were writing about cojoined twins who made their living in showbusiness. Yes they might have been called Freak Shows, way back when, but that still does not excuse the papers words today.
They have published caricatures of Jade as a pig (does that not offend some race or other) they have described her as porkine, which is pig like. They have sold millions of copy on the back of the story. No contribution of added profits to charity?? Well well!!

THE PUBLIC: YOU & ME For being hypocritical. We are all human but at the same time animals. All animals have a natural instinct to be wary of, and indeed attack when they don't understand or are threatened by something different. Who has not at sometime been racist? This applies to us ALL. White, black, yellow, etc etc. We are all guarded because of our differences. It is not that we mean harm, it is that we just don't understand. Jade by her own admission has been brought up to consider confrontation as being "the norm"
It was like putting the woman who had been lost in the Jungle for years into a house full of other humans and expecting her to behave to expectations.

I believe that as a nation we are kidding ourselves if we say we are not racist. WE ARE. Not just white people but even the hard working ethnic communities who contribute so well in the UK are self segregating and prefer their own race. It is a natural human thing to do.
Check out the ExPats living in Spain. Same thing, different country. But to our credit we are a tollerent country and generally we manage to muddle through in some sort of harmony. But we do discriminate!!

Talking of Spain, have you seen how Brits abroad behave. Adults and kids acting like animals. Go to Gran Canaria and see drunken louts having "fun". Urinating from balconies onto passers by, shouting, swearing, and being generally agressive.
Are some of these the Brits who stand in judgement of someone who has messed up big style? Probably not, they would have been cheering her on.

If you can honestly say that you have never been racist then try one of these.
Fatist, sexist, thinist, ageist, smokerist, or worse, turned your heads away from those who are unlucky enough to be born severley diabled and are VERY different because nature made them that way?.

We should also be ashamed that everywhere we turn today we have bred a society of ferel youth, of which Jade was one. She had the guts and luck to try to better herself but was always heading for a fall.

DON'T WE BRITS LOVE TO CREATE STARS AND SEE SUCCESS....Then DON'T WE JUST LAP IT UP WHEN THE FALL OFF THE PEDESTAL WE PUT THEM ON.
Steve Davies, Great snooker player 'till he won too often, Michael Schumacker, the same, David Beckam hero to villain and back again..............and now Jade.

When a nation lives in fear of its youth we are in trouble. Add to that the governments folly with regard to mass immigration.......and that is not being racist, we have a country that will be threatened by our own youth and the imported criminals from other nations.

THE GOVERNMENT: For even commenting on the show AT ALL. Let the appointed regulators do their job.
Watching MP's behaviour on televised parliment shows that they cannot take the moral high ground as far as good behaviour on TV is concerned.

There are also bigger issues that need sorting out like their own corrupt behaviour, national debt, illegal wars, infighting let alone the outright lies told to an all too tollerant nation. What example do you set ministers?

E4 I turned on to watch the BB show follow up and was embarrassed to see and hear some idiot shouting and swearing in the name of comedy. I am 55 years old, world wise and I was still embarrassed by what I saw and heard. The audience were a bunch off yelling idiots shouting each other down, swearing and cussing yet were supposed to be commenting on Jade??

Will someone in government begin to understand that this country is fast becoming a toilet that needs flushing.

Last but by no means least

MYSELF for watching such a car crash of a programme and in turn boosting the viewing figures of C4

END RESULT? I bet any money that Shilpa, like her or not, she will shame us all......
She is likely to FOREGIVE.....................WILL WE??

I am sure some folk are perfect................love to meet you!!

Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.

I`ve just been browsing through the BB forum, and it`s seriously scary over there.

Then I came here and read this, and what a relief to read such a well balanced, thought out post.

You`ve restored my faith in human nature........ thank you.

If these vile people put themselves in the public eye, they deserve everything they get. I have no sympathy whatsoever for them. It is not even as if Jade has not been in a similar situation before by exposing her bad behaviour in a former BB series These so called celebrities could just quietly get on with their lives if they did not want to attract attention to themselves.

I stopped reading when I got to this bit, sure you may have had some good points to make but I am sick of people shoving their epistomology onto other people. If you're speaking in a general way then fine, but it doesn't come across as such.

I research ethnicity and the media and am getting a little fed up with such 'black and white' (no pun intended) views, you just cannot be so brazen about a whole nation.

So the country is full of d1ckheads i.e. us. No surprises there. The difference is Jade has been glorified for being such ever since she rode into town in BB3.

Totally agree. I came across someone on Friday who reminded me of how prejudiced we tend to be in general. I'd never met him before, so we were doing the social niceties thing. He is from Holland, and proceeded to ask me about my family. I told him my son is the lead guitarist in a well-known punk band (signed, always touring, quite successful). He asked me if my son dressed like a punk. I told him he used to have his hair Mohican-style, but now has it very short and tends to dye it, that he wears punk clothing, and has piercings and tattoos. His instant response was "well he'd never come in my house".

Now. He's never met my son. Doesn't know that he's a very polite, well-spoken, level-headed boy. He's had his share of problems in life, including several years as a drug addict, but he came through and is now well-respected amongs his peers and around the world musically. So how dare he judge? But he did. Just on the basis of a few bits of information I shared with him.

I'm proud of my son - but that conversation taught me a lot about prejudice.

I can't speak for you, but I have always thought she was vile and have never 'glorified' her. However a lot were taken in by her 'celebrity'.

If the point of this thread is that we should leave Jade alone and stop commenting on what she's done and said then SHE should stop talking about it. But she's on a crusade to convince people that she really is still that lovable dimwit brand she's built up. And as long as she continues to do that - I'll continue to comment that on the evidence I've seen that she isn't. When she stops trying to justify and defend her behaviour, I'll stop pointing out how wrong it was.

I thought the point of the thread was 'let he/she who is without sin cast the first stone'. It needed to be said. Won't change a thing of course, but sometimes we need to take a step back and look at ourselves.

If this were about some 'honest' individual who has not put herself & all close to her in the pursuit of boasting about how influential she is & the £50,000(thats 2 years pay to alot of people..which is a fact overlooked me thinks) pay packet for 3 weeks 'work' then yes the post is correct...however Joke Goody is pure greed....& GREED IS NOT GOOD!!
As for the UK feling guilty...dont make me laugh...what is this caring, near suicidal creature doing??....getting into & on as much media spotlight to protect her fragile future. No symphathy,no guilt here..& never will be.

Well, that point was lost on me in the midst of the moralising.

I absolutely agree that people need to consciously think about what they say and do, and how it impacts others. And I'm far from perfect.

Forgive Jade? That's not for me to do. Forget and embrace Jade and believe that she's not the person I saw her be ? Don't think so.
