Bored with Murder on the Dales

I'm so bored by the 'murder on the dales' story, I'm not sure I care about who murdered Tom Bling, or about who get's his fortune..

I can't stand Chas, Matthew's brain as usual is in his pants, Carl, has no backbone, and Jimmy, is well .... Jimmy..

The Merry widow, is a bad caricature, of Cruella deVill.. even by wonderful Emmerdale standards..

The imminent Katie/Andy/Jo storlyine intensifies this week, and I'm deadpan with excitement...

I think I need to step away from the Dales for a while... maybe until Spring time, and lambing season..

I adore Emmerdale, but a rest is a good as a change..

does anyone else feel the same?

I haven't been interested at all in the murder story. So far every twist has seemd predictable and I'm past caring.
Perhaps if we cared more about the victim we would, but Tom King was hardly likeable was he?

The characters also seem very contrived...particularly, Rosemary as you've pointed out.

Ah yes, I forgot about lambing season; explains why everyone is pregnant.

I am also bored with the murder storyline. I couldn't care less who killed Tom King; I'm only glad someone did it. If it wasn't for the Billy Hopwood storyline, I might have also taken a break from Emmerdale.

I admit, i haven't been following it. It's been quite boring from what i've seen.

I just want to know who did it!

Anyone know when it will be revealed?

I'm sure I read somewhere that it won't be for several months yet. Maybe even half a year. Big mistake by the Emmie producers if you ask me; I'm sure even the most dedicated fans will have trouble maintaining interest for that long.....and it's not as if Tom King was some well-loved character who the majority of viewers want avenged.

SAID. But got so caught up in the flippin' clue search and trying to get logged in by 7pm that I've not reallly been glued as usual, especially last couple weeks.
At least with Trial and Retribution/ Waking the Dead and even the Bill/Taggart and Midsomer Murders AND CORRIE> you only have to be glued for two evenings. And quite frankly Emmerdale producers I've thoroughly enjoyed them! So hurry up we want FIZZ, BANG, WHOLLOP > not SIMMER.

If they drag it on until April then that's just stupid. People are losing interest now. Tom King wasn't a good enough character to warrant months of interest in who topped him. Whoever it was, most people would only like to know so they can credit them with relieving Emmerdale viewers from that poor man's Frank Tate.

I was interested in Whodunnit for about 2 weeks after the murder, then the whole Bob and Jamie panto bored me and since then I couldn't care less and the rest of it's so bad I haven't watched for weeks. I read the episode threads to keep up with what's gone on in each episode.

I do think it was a bit of a mistake dragging it out so long, specially as they seem to only do the storyline sporadically. As you say, it's not like Tom was a much loved character who'd been in for many years. But even if it had been I'd still be bored by now!

What's so annoying about the whole thing is this daft '10 suspects' thing. You don't like someone, you don't like them, doesn't mean you'd ever kill em! If everyone killed everyone they fell out with there'd be very few people left in the world! That's what's so ridiculous about the hype there was about this whole 'half the village are suspects' rubbish. The people who would benefit are the realistic suspects. Bob, Jamie, Len, Terry ... and half of them, benefit in no way. It's just daft, designed to drag it out, and that's what's so boring.

At least with the Corrie murder they just let everyone know who did it from the start and left the viewer to watch the police trying to work out what everyone watching knows!

Well, I'm not bored with it ... yet!

They are interlocking new storylines in with the murder investigation now, so that's good. Looking forward to Viv popping those wee babies of hers, as I think if she doesn't pop soon, she'll explode! Plus we've got the whole Billy Hopwood story to unfold, which should be good. I admit that I could do without the whole Andeh, Kayteh and Wooden storyline, but hopefully that will be resovled once and for all soon.

There are a few more new characters coming into the show soon:

spoiler:
Linda Lusardi's character, Carrie and her daughter Scarlett (by Tom King).

Sharon, Val Lambert's daughter.

New Aussie farrier, Jonny, who just happens to be gay and catches Grayson's eye

so there are some interesting storylines coming up.

Each to their own, but I'm sticking with Emmerdale for the foreseeable future.

It is so dull. A storyline like this has and will only work in Dallas. Do the producers think Tom King is really JR and that the world is gripped by Emmerdale!

I liked Emmerdale for years but if this continues viewers are going to end up admitting themselves to an asylum. I really hope the viewing figures decline and a radical rethink of the show is sought because it cries of desperation due to a lack of ideas just now.
