Corrie ~ Wednesday 24 January
Wednesday 24 January 7.30 - 8pm ITV1
Tracy (Kate Ford) wakes up to her 30th birthday in prison. The Barlows try and buoy her with cards and Claire's petition, but it's only her solicitor's visit she's interested in. Turning on the tears, Tracy tells her she needs to go to Charlie's funeral and, falling for the waterworks, Jayne (Julia Marsen) announces she's going to get her bail. Tracy is confident but back in her cell her fellow inmates stress it's not going to be as easy as she thinks. Elsewhere, as Jason (Ryan Thomas) makes plans for Charlie's funeral, Maria's (Samia Smith) still struggling with his loss. Spotting a way to worm his way into her affections, David (Jack P Shepherd) realises he could be her shoulder to cry on and asks Maria if she'd like him to accompany her to the funeral. Cilla's (Wendi Peters) still fuming about Chesney's (Sam Aston) disappearance, claiming Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) has brainwashed him to turn his back on his mother. Meanwhile, Cilla comes face to face with Yana for the first time. But after giving her former best friend a slap round the face, will the pair kiss and make up? And Norris (Malcolm Hebden) tries to get Rita (Barbara Knox) interested in his new online obsession – Classmates Reunited. But while she has no desire to chase up old school friends, her ears do prick up when she realises she could track down her former dance troupe. This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by David Lane, produced by Steve Frost and directed by John Anderson. Coronation Street is made by ITV Productions. Tonight's Episode Discuss here!!

I was surprised to hear Kirk in the chippy with Cilla, telling her that Fiz was conscientious.
Not a very Kirky word, is it? |

An average episode really.
The best stuff imo came from Fiz and Chesney & Norris and Rita. I think Fiz and Chesney will work really well when Cilla's gone. Barlow stuff was average tonight. No Blanche Tracy would work excellent in Bad Girls though! Didn't like the Cilla/Les stuff Maria/David stuff was average. Overall...6/10

A reasonable episode tonight. Wendi Peters was good as Cilla. It was nice to see her a bit subdued when Les caught her looking out of the window. She obviously hasn't cared very much about Chesney whilst he's been there, but now that he's gone has suddenly developed something approaching maternal feelings. I also liked the way that she slapped Yana & then carried on their friendship as if nothing had happened. Mind you, the two of them are so 'bad' that they have both realised that nobody else would put up with them.
Barlow storyline was nothing special tonight. Tracy failed to persuade me she had been acting in self defence but apparently her lawyer seemed to swallow the "act" without too much trouble. Quite enjoyed Rita's comments about her schooldays, especially the food poisoning incident when she shared the sandwich. Michelle's reaction to Norris saying that he'd been looking up exotic dancers on the internet was also quite amusing. However, given that Reet's meeting with Rula Romanoff & her looking into her family tree lasted for such short periods of time you have to wonder whether this potential storyline about her past will all be wrapped up in a few episodes as well. 7 out of 10. |

Kate Ford is SUCH a wooden actress, cant wait to see the back of her.
Has anyone informed Shelley about the death of her former partner and father of her unborn child??? |

I thought the David/Maria stuff was soo sweet.
"I can be there for you... so long as you're there for me!" such a shame he's going to go and spoil everything...

Kate Ford isnt even sufficiently talented to qualify for a razzie. Expressionless mare, that toothy grin for every scene.

I enjoyed Cilla's scenes. Loved the way she slapped Yana, they got it out of the way, then carried on as best mates again
I like Chesney and Fiz together. Wonder what the living arrangements will be when Cilla leaves? Tracy was woeful as per usual. I can't help thinking Kate Ford's acting "style" would be more suited to a black and white silent picture from the 1920's, her expressions are so obvious. Rita and Norris were good as usual. Looking forward to finding out where this story goes. |

I'm getting so bored of Tracey. She's always been an overused character but this whole murder thing is just taking the biscuit. And apparently she has more storylines to come. I wish she'd just leave already.
