Which sympathy vote will you be giving?

Will you be giving it to Shilpa for her treatment by the bullies in the house?

Will you be giving it to Jermaine because his baby brother is in hospital recovering from a heart attack?

Will you give it to Dirk because at the tender age of 18 he had to watch his brother shoot his dad dead, in order to stop his dad from beating up his mum; and because he had cancer; and because his wife left him; and because he had to bring up his two boys himself?

You decide

(I was getting a tad annoyed with the "Shilpa will win on the sympathy vote" argument, I'm sure some misguided do-gooders will vote out of sympathy, but there are many people who genuinely like her best based on she handled herself rather than just because they feel sorry for her).

My "sympathy vote" will go to Dirk

My sympathy vote goes to Dirk, purely for the suffering he has endured whilst in the house.

.. that is a really good question, and something I have meditated on. Are most of us voting out of sympathy, or some character trait(s) that we disown in ourselves and project onto the HMs in turn voting for them out of dislocated self love?

I'm avoiding Shilpa as a candidate for my votes because, beyond the sympathy factor and her beauty, there is little else there for me. Jermaine I can appreciate for his remarkable calming influence - it is as powerful and potent as it is passive! Also his very sweet singing during the Jackson 5 tribute act was sublime. But this isn't enough for me to be 'suaded into reaching for the phone.

So, I'm left with the only suitable candidate and the one I love and warm to the most, inspite of him being a grumbly old man at times. For me, he is the spectrum that I look for in any HM who I support - he represents the most I see in myself, and the most I would like to be.

My vote goes to Dirk because he is the best HM ever to appear in CBB, nothing to do with sympathy. And why would he need sympathy anyway? He is more someone to be admired than pityed, imho...

Yep, that't the reason I'm voting for Dirk, nothing whatsoever to do with fancying him since I was sixteen and still being an A-Team fan. No sirree!

Are you referring to a fictional version of the show?

Dirk. He deserves it more than any of them.

No, the one I have been watching..if you don't 'get' why Dirk is great, then that's your problem, not mine....

If I were voting out of sympathy then it would be Dirk. The whole furore surrounding Shilpa, has overshadowed his treatment by Cleo et el. However, I'll be voting for who I want to win and that is Jermaine, and if he finishes third I'll switch to Dirk. Both men have been great in that house for different reasons.

Dirk: Great one liners and saying it how it is

Jermaine: A gentle human being.

BOTH: Have been themselves.

Jermaine to win.

Never knew that about his baby brother, or that he had one.

And both did nothing to help Shilpa. Truly great.
