Request... Can you help? : ) - Big Brother

Hey Guys,

Hope you are all well. I'm after a favour...

I am wondering if any of you have any newspaper cuttings or headlines, magazines, pictures etc perhaps scanned in about the 'Bullying and Racism' in the house.

The reason I ask is because at my school I am a member of an Anti-Bullying team and we would like to highlight the issue of Bullying using Big Brother.

It's incredibly topical and everyone at school keeps asking us for our opinion on it all.

Maybe you know of interviews or video footage or anything that may help our work about Bullying or Racism. We are ultimately trying to raise awareness and show that Bullying is everywhere, but that it wont be tolerated, certainly at our school!

Feel free to also chip in if you have any other non-Big Brother Bullying cuttings or ideas or resources.

Brilliant idea for you to ask for help. Keep it up. No clippings but consider this...racism is another form of bullying, picking on the "outsider" just for being "different"

Hi KBHeadsHigh, if you use your search facilty, you will find links to newspaper/internet news re the bullying issue.

Also there is a brilliant post which gives a list of suicides linked to bullying. It's been moved out of the BB forum and into a General Topics forum. Again, if you do a search for it, you should find it.

I'm sure that you will get lots of assistance with this.

You can get in touch with the papers directly.
There has been very little positive from this series and maybe they will cover it .

Also, have a look on YouTube - a lot of the incidents of bulling in the CBB house have been put up on there and you should find shedloads of stuff. Most of them have been included in threads here so again the search tool will help you find it.

If you have trouble locating the bullying statistics on here - send me a PM (click on my username) and I'll try to find it for you.

Also, can I just say I think it's fantastic that your schools has an Anti-Bullying team. When I first moved to England, I went to school and - whilst I was never bullied because I was a tough Yank kid - I was treated badly both by other pupils and some teachers. I was fortunate because I was strong but eventually my Mom had to send me back to the States to school because I was so unhappy.

If you can find the thread with links to the newspaper articles, you can print those off. Alternatively, look on the newspapers internet sites - mainly free and searchable. If you do contact the newspapers - tell them your a schools and its for an anti-bullying thing and I would bet they'll provide it for nothing. Good PR for them!

If you visit the newspapers' own websites, all stories printed will be on there, all the sites should have a search facility.

Also, if you do choose to get in touch with newspapers, let them know that you're a student and it's for a anti-bullying thing to do with school. They may not charge you and might even give you some coverage

Type "CBB" and "bullying" into Google News search engine and you will find links to online articles all over the world about it.

You can narrow down the search by adding "Jade" or "Jackiey" to your search.

Well if you find an UK paper on there your local reference library might have a copy or if it doesn't then perhaps the paper could help.

I've just had a look on ebay and someone is offering lots of cuttings/clippings of newspaper articles. So will check that out.
Also with all of your suggestions, we are well on the way to producing a good assembly on the issue.
