Russell is a Hindu and should know its teachings.

How come he always says 'Hare Krishna' at the end of BBBM then?

He's also started saying namaste, that's a Hindi word for Hello or Goodbye(and also from lost!)

He's a big fan, and often quotes them. I'm pretty sure he's come out with that particular line before.

Namaste is the Hanso Foundation thing. It was on their website.

There's a club if he'd like to go
He could meet somebody who really loves him
So he goes and he stands on his own
and he leaves on his own
and he goes home
and he cries and plays with his winkle

(with apologies to Morrisey)

Saying Hare Krishna might mean Russell follows Hindu philosophy, or that he is part of the Hare Krishna movement (like George Harrison) which is kinda separate, or he just likes the words in a hippy-eque peace and love groovy way.

Not that he ever would, but I'd love to see Morrissey in CBB.

I can just about tolerate the filth because it makes it so much more satisfying to catch his very intelligent insightful comments when they pop up. He's a pretty smart guy; I'd love to see him talk without the filth... has anyone heard his Radio 2 show - any good?

I'm sure Russell is a fan of the Smiths, hasn't he got a cat called 'Morrissey' (I'm ashamed that I know such trivia!)

Like everything in Hindu dharma, there are no hard and fast rules. But, yes, some sects do believe that you can only be born a Hindu... however, there is no remit on who can achieve Nirvana/oneness etc... you don't have to be a Hindu. So in essence, it doesn't matter at all.
