Who would be happy for a Family Member to take part in BB

I thought it maybe interesting to see how many FMs would be happy to see a Family Member take part in a BB show after all the events of this years CBB, I would be very cautious if a member of my Family said they were going to take part, for one thing i would worry how they would be presented and how the public reaction would effect them should it turn sour, what does anyone else think

No way! I would try to stop any friend/family member going on BB. The one person I have known that has been on it did not work out very well for.
I always wanted to go on for the experience (tasks, game aspect), but I never actually would and have certainly never auditioned.

Well, going by the fact that most people can't tell anyone when they get through, I doubt they would tell me.

No, I wouldn't be happy. The chances are they would bring some kind of shame on the family name, even if it's via bad editing.

There was a time I once wound up my Mum and told her I was going in - right up until the opening night. She sat there watching it, saying she didn't believe it but when I gave her a call she did admit to feeling fairly relieved as there was an element of worry.

She said there would be nothing worse for a mother then to see their child humiliate themselves by being associated with 'the talentless morons in the Big Brother house'.

Who went on that you know?

Thanks for your response so far, I think I would certainly try to disuade anyone on going in there, as if things did go wrong it's not only the person who enters the house who suffers its the family as well, it would be horrible if it was your Son / Daughter, who you know so well, got bad editing or did actually do something foolish and got a lot of bad press, the mind boggles to how you could help them cope with the aftermath.

It'd be quite funny to see a member of my family in there. I'd be proud even if they messed up.

No not really, wouldnt be the viewers that I would be worried about, its the media prying into your private lives that I wouldnt like. making up storys for their papers etc. but if one of my family did go in, if anything happened like in CCB, I would be there in a shot to drag them out. Ladder to the rescue.
Mind you think of all that money, doesnt really matter if you behave or not, might be worth the risk.

Ultimately, it would be up to them!

I would be very worried for them to be honest. I don't think they would be up to the aftermath that inevitably follows these days.

My mum was against me going for BB - BIG time. but i think she's warming to the idea now. I can see why she has concern, but it's my decision. I'd have to respect that if it was Mum going for it! :P

I'd love to go in! I'm not super-strong emotionally, so it may be a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me - it'd certainly test my philosophy on life and my general attitude to life.

I'd thought it would be quite fun to go in and experience BB from the 'other side', but when my friends started saying how they thought 'OMG, you'd be really good on BB', I began to feel that going into the BB house would be more fun for my friends. I started to hope that I would be able to make them laugh, which would make me feel good too. And then I began to think that maybe, lots more people who tuned into BB would also laugh at things I said or did in the house, and I now think that I could bring lots of smiles to lots of people, which would be fantastic.

Making other people smile makes me feel smiley on the inside, and my wish is to be given the amazing opportunity to go into the BB house and do my best to do just that.

My daughter would love to be in BB, not that she has auditioned, well not to my knowledge! I really don't think she is a strong enough person to do it, well to deal with all the crap. She would probably lamp the first person that upset her!

But as she is an adult it is entirely her decision. And I would probably be here and there defending her to the last!

I have watched BB since the first one and I have stuck with it so far - but lately having seen the damage it does - I would never advise anyone to go in - if they are insecure, easily influenced by others or not canny - it seems that despite the amount of publicity this side of BB has - many of the hms don't seem to get what it is actually about - I wonder if the money they get - along with increased profile in the press (or new fame) is worth it in the long run - personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!

I wouldn't stop anyone I knew going in, or try to talk them out of it at least.

They're the same as anyone, you go in and you get what you dish out. If they mess up, they mess up and deal with it. Part of being a family is standing by while the people you love do the things they want or need to and picking up the pieces if it doesn't work out.

There's worse things in life than messing up on a game show

I would never ever want any of my family to go on BB. After seeing some of the things people write about hms, I would take it all too personal and would probably turn into a internet stalker to get my revenge on a particular nasty poster.

I'd hate it. My fiancée wants to go to the open auditions but I won't let him. It'll ruin his life - either on screen or afterwards.

My niece wants to go on once shes old enough. I don't think she should. I'd be scared she'd do something silly and be hated.
