Strictly Non Racist - But should Shilpa Go Home?

Yes she won the series, yes the subject of bullying and racism has hit the front pages. Also quite rightly the odious people who abused her are getting the treatment that their behaviour so thoroughly deserves.

However the longer that Shilpa stays her people will start to question her motives. Didnt she have to return to India to complete 4 movies. Every day that she stays here she edges down the route of being one of Max Cliffords publicity whores, and undoes all of the good work that she has done.

Of course she should make as much capital as she can but for goodness sake going to the Houses of Parliament. She on a celebrity reality show end of! People are using her know and will turn her into the sort of celebrity that she appeared to despise.

Nothing special, she should go home now.

She had enough exposure now. It would probably best to drop out of the lime light for a while. It only a matter of time before the Media turns on her. If she goes now and returns when she has a movie over here to promote, it would be better for her career wise. Always keeping them wanting more.

Mmm, that's a difficult one. Stay here and try and gain as much publicity as possible, get lots of work offers, merchandising deals and make millions of pounds or go home to India and finish off a film and leave them wanting more? Daddy or chips?

What would you do?

Maybe the same could be said of any overseas artist(s) who chooses to work here??? Or are they different, if so, why?

One of her motives was to gain exposure in Britain ( she said so many times while in the house ).

She doesn't seem to be doing anything to conflict with that. It isn't her fault that some of the stranger members of the public, DS and the media seem hell bent on portraying her as some perfect being ( probably so that they can rip her to shreds later on if she does something "imperfect" ).

Erm - she won - this is what winners usually do. If you're not interested in her or BB now it's over - why not stay away from the forum & not read her press coverage? That's what everyone else does...

And jimmy - please don't talk about whores - even if it's in a cliché'd phrase - it's just scummy.

You forgot that we are living in globalized world. If British companies can move call centers to Asian countries then the people of Asian countries do have the right to come her for work. and I am not seeing anything wrong in it.

We just have to wait and watch how she handles herself in BRITISH media if she want to work her as well.

If I'm totally honest....I couldn't give two hoots. CBB is over - therefore my interest in it (small as it was, this year) is over & done with.
It doesn't affect me one way or the other if Shilpa stays or goes.

It has been less than a month since the end of the show. True colours are beginning to shine through.

As long as he can make good money for her charity and herself plus meet people like Tony Blair and the Queen why should she go back to India?

Milk the British media for all she can.

Wow Easy Rosered.

I think if you read my post I wasnt necessarily criticising, I was opening up a debate with a question. That everyone else seemed to want to contribute to.

And I believe the phrase mediawhore to very mainstream and in no way meant to be "scummy"

Well I just want to say Shilpa is prob the only BB HM (maybe jermine.) Who has a big project to concentrate on after BB she is going home to promote her new film.

I feel kinda odd about Shilpa to be honest. I think she is prob the biggest star they have had in there in tearms of right now. I still not sure going in to BB will bring her all the thing she desvers cus she is a true talent.

And to be fair she is bigger than the heat mags and the odd guest star on some telly show. She is a true celeb in every sense of the word not a washed up has been like most who go in there

Agreed Rosered

I dont care, I am asking a question with the irony that one of the dullards wished that she had ****ed off home.

If you cant comment then there are no reasons for forums, and if people are so self righteous then they shouldnt reply?

She can stay, she can go...why do I care? She's got a visa, she's working and earning her own money - she's not harming me...

Basically, I don't mind.

Shilpa's not doing different to other BB winners. They all go in magazines and on breakfast telly or R & J. Pete was in every mag every week updating anyone who cared (not many) on his "relationship" with Nikki then he was in every shop signing his 2-weeks-to-write-it autobiography. Same for Chantelle .

Aw c'mon, she's a B grade Bollywood actress and would still be that if it wasn't for the 3 witches as they have become to be known.

If they hadn't been in the house and it had been 3 other females who acted like, for instance, Ian, none of this world publicity would have happened. Shilpa may still have won, although that is open to conjecture and she would have just been another 'winner' with little else to follow.

And, if you think she is bigger than the heat mags etc, how come she made megabucks out of the Daily Mirror, I ask you!
