Who finds smileys annoying?

I particulary hate them on this forum, they're used too often, and if a whole band of members are expressing hate on say, Jade Goody, using a happy face just makes them look like smug, belittling gits. I have used them seldom in the past, and i'm not going to try do any at all here, because this place is invaded by the little blighters! It's just when you keep seeing them on and on again, they get on your nerves, some worser than others. I get these hideous vides from them, after seeing too much....

Welcome to...The Smiley Annoyance League
Which Smiley has the irritation factor of Leo Sayer...find out...NOW!

In at No 14(least annoying): -doesn't bother me..yet

13 - You makey me flirty or i am in the know of everything complex

12. -bloody question marks

11. - stupid gurning face

10. - I'm in constipation now because of my massive anger attack, LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!

9. - Oh dear, what i do! WHAT I DO!

8 - Yeah, like, whatever! Loser!

Continued....
7 - Childish looking-Oh yes, evry fing is just delightful, i kould pres daisy chians and skip and pranse about like a freakin' fairy.

6 Behind the keyboard is a big hideous monster but here i look like one cutie pie!

5 - Oh please shut up, i'm listening to my ego inflating this very second.

4 - I look cool, yet cringeworthy and cheesy at the same time...i am your embarressing uncle equivalent.

3 - In your face, you disgrace!

2 -Ignorant and self-centred, i am the embodiment of superiority. You wouldn't want to have a pint with me, rather wine and caviar peasant!

And Number 1 most annoying smiley.... - Not only do i spank of Tony Blair, i also contain more cheese than in the whole of Holland, and i gratify and sneer over other people's misfortunes while i live the good life!

So remember these REAL actual meanings to the smileys and DETER from using them, Thanks!

It's Friday...

-And those ladies, they rolled their eyes

-Some people, they like to go out dancing
-And other people, they have to work, just watch me now!*
-And there's even some evil mothers; Well they're gonna tell you that everything is just dirt
-Y'know that, women, never really faint
-And that villains always blink their eyes, woo!
-And that, y'know, children are the only ones who blush!
-And that, life is just to die!

I love old threads, they're generally full of banned and resigned posters.

This thread certainly serves as a reminder that the life of the FM, like that of the mayfly, is all too brief.

On second thoughts, I think I mean or maybe even .

Who finds long buried threads that scrabble to the surface like reanimated zombies slightly irritating? A trip down memory lane is nice and all that, but...

Just kidding - she's fairly harmless really, unlike a certain former Wheel Of Fortune co-host of hers.

(Incidentally, Smillie seems to be a variant of the surname Smellie. Not a lot of people know that.)

I've never been sure how to spell the word. Both smilie and smiley seem to be around, and I'm not sure that either has been accepted as the definitive version, though admittedly when I searched for "smilie" Google did ask rather querulously, "Did you mean to search for: smiley?"

"Smiley" still looks odd to me, though, so I'll stick with "smilie" for the moment. However, that's beginning to look more and more like an attempt to spell "simile" that's gone wrong.

You must not read a lot of John Le Carré. I was going with the wikipedia spelling myself. IME singular words - at least south of the England/Scotland border - tend to end in "-ey" rather than "-ie" so I guess I'm taking a typical anglocentric view.
