My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade

Anyone else own this album?

I think its AMAZING! I really loved 'Welcome To The Black Parade' when it came out although I wasn't expecting much from the album but it has totally surprised me.

It reminds me a lot of Green Day's American Idiot album. Whats everyones favourite songs. I love them all, although I really can't get into 'House Of Wolves' or 'Sleep'.

I love 'Dead', 'Cancer' is beautiful, 'Teenagers' is amazing too, so catchy. Their new single 'I Don't Love You' is a nice slowie and I think 'Disenchanted' is gorgeous too. Although I think, at the moment 'Mama' is my favourite song.

I have it and I love it. When I got it, straight away it was on my iPod and I listened to it all the way through.

'Teenagers', 'Mama' and 'The Sharpest Lives' are my three favourite songs and I also like the two released as singles 'Welcome to the Black Parade' and 'Famous Last Words.'

I don't really like their new single 'I Don't Love You' and also 'Sleep'

Can't wait to see them in concert next month

They got mainstream, and changed. "Three cheers..." was tons better.

I think you'll find they went mainstream after I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, which was their debut. Three Cheers was considered watered down by fans at the time.

Definitely try and get hold of the debut if you haven't heard it.

The EMO Parade was a big disapointment for me.
'this is how i disappear' is brilliant though!

buy the 1st two instead

p.s the new single kinda rips-off 'yellow' and 'run'

Think it's an excellent album (along with Muse, my favourite of last year)

Outstanding tracks are "This Is How I Disappear" and, my favourite, "The Sharpest Lives"

Least favourite are "Mama" and "Teenagers"

I don't have the album yet but love' The Black Parade' single.

Great band, hope they are around a long time, good to hear a good five piece with a sound lead guitarist and rather charismatic lead singer...... his brother plays bass I believe.

I really like 'The Black Parade' - only seen it on music channels, but every time it comes on I recognize the intro and start tapping my toes - so i've added it to my ever growing 'to buy list'.

I bought this album when it first came out and although it is very different from albums 1 & 2 (which i prefer) it is still a very good album. I 'm looking forward to seeing them in manchester on the 24th, should be good

Did anyone see the new video (for "I Don't Love You") on channel 4 last night? It's filmed in black and white, and is a bit weird but stunning nevertheless. Gerard is looking gorgeous with black hair.

It's been played on Kerrang loads over the last couple of days, visually it's gorgeous and it sounds good too! The jury's still out as far as his hair's concerned though.

I have it and the more I play it, the more I love it- it took me a while to get used to the morbid lyrics, but the songs are just SO good. My (indie ) daughter also loves it, although it took her a while too, as the 'emo' tag was so strong - but a good album is a good album! Love the new vid

Did anyone see them last night at the first "The Black Parade" gig in the UK? I've heard that it is a brilliant show, and as I am taking a bus load of hysterical teenagers to Birmingham tomorrow night to see them, I would appreciate any info.

'I Don't Love You' and 'Cancer' are my favourites. I find 'Teenagers' very humourous since they're the main market for MCR.

I used to hate 'The Sharpest Lives', but it grew on me.

Best MCR album so far in my opinion. The only ones I liked on 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' were the singles.

As far as live bands go, they knock them out of the field. They built their reputation on their live act. Apparently on this tour they've gone the whole hog too with stage sets and pyrotechnics, can't wait to see it on Saturday.

Yawn! I've heard better music coming out of peoples arses. I've seen em' live before and never heard someone capture their bowel movements comming out there mouths with a microphone soo well. Never Again, not even for a mate that says check these guys out there amasing.

Anyone going to attempt to see them at the dowload festival before they get off the stage for safety reasons( being there own safety)?

Well, pollythena - you are going to have an absolute ball tomorrow night. I have been attending gigs since the '60s -and in that time have seen many great live acts (Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd amongst them) and I can tell you that the show MCR put on was every bit as good as the best I've ever seen.

They play the whole album from beginning to end with lots of pyrotechnics with amazing lights and special effects. They almost brought the house down with their live version of Mama and Teenagers, and then went off stage, changed and came back on and played lots of songs from Revenge. The last song was Helena - a fitting end to a brilliant concert. Have fun on Saturday.

Saw MCR last night, they were brilliant and the special effects were great, but to be honest I preferred the 2nd half when they went from the black parade to their older stuff (unfortunately nothing of their first album) they seemed to like playing their old stuff more, the scary thing is the one thing that stuck in my head all of today was Gerrard singing "everybody tie your shoes clap clap"

They're shooting the video to 'Teenagers' within the next few weeks. Although, it may only be released in the USA. I really hope 'Mama' is a single or even 'The Sharpest Lives'.

the video was shot on March 17th (just before they left to come here)

Saw them Tuesday in Plymouth and will be in Manchester tonight and Paris on my birthday!!! YAY!!!! the show is fantastic, Thursday are brilliant, Geoff puts on as good a show as Gee and to anyone going, I don't need to tell you to have fun because you will for sure.

BTW I am a 30 something woman who has been gigging since she was 11 and MCR are in my top 5 acts live (though nobody will ever top Floyd I know that though MCR come close)
