Clarification - Teleport TV not part of Supreme package anymore?! (ex-Telewest)

Okay so im not totally sure what package we're on as far as VM is concerned... we are/were on what was Telewests supreme package and before Telewest merged or changed to Virgin Media, we got access to Teleport TV for free...

Now im not best pleased that Sky One have gone or otherwise that we have lost some channels and it looks unlikely that we'll get any money off our bill (as my dad says its the opposite, the monthly bill has actually done the opposite and gone UP 2 quid instead, since they changed to being VM from Telewest), but ive got to say im even more ticked off now

Basically I decided to have a look at whats available on Teleport TV to compare that with whats available through Virgin Central and I saw that Little Britain series 2 is available on Teleport TV so I thought great, that'll cheer me up (ive had a bit of a not so great day) so I selected that and then I noticed it said that we're 'unsubscribed' to the show and it asked for the PIN! In the past, im pretty sure that it always said 'subscribed' to any show selected through Teleport TV... people who subscribed to the supreme package were/are supposed to get free access to Teleport TV I thought but I can only presume that when it says 'unsubscribed', then that indicates that the show is NOT included in the main monthly TV bill and they'll add some cost to our next bill for it... though I know when it is free they sometimes also do ask for the PIN (just to confuse you eh)

So I was wondering if anyone knows for sure, any other ex-Telewest customers on the supreme package know whether we've lost the priviledge of having free access to all Teleport TV content or not... also what TV package on VM does the supreme package equate to? im guessing its L or XL maybe(?) I've never figured that out for sure... just curious.

If we have lost that content, I'll really not be pleased with VM I have to say, I think its a bit rich making everyone pay extra in their monthly bill for a mobile phone package that we may or may not be interested in and they take away some of our channels and content... and they go on about choice eh? or is it possibly that the content on Teleport TV is being gradually moved over to Virgin Central, which IS free (right?) I don't know...

Teleport TV is FREE to XL customers and £5 for anyone on a lower package, under the new EPG its now called TV Choice...

Customers on ex NTL used to have to pay per episode for this, but they are being changed to how Telewest used to have the service!!

Not sure why the menu is saying 'unsubscribed' but if you didnt have it you simply would not be able to access them. You only enter your PIN when viewing something that has a rating and being viewed b4 the watershed!!!!!!

As you are saying teleport still, and not tv choice on demand,i'm going to assume you haven't got the software update yet.I have seen ex ntl people saying the same thing is happening, and they have been told by cs that although it looks like you will be charged, you will not if you are on the XL package. The other thing is that at the moment VOD is free to everybody, regardless of package, but this will last only three months.

Yeah exactly it used to say free when I tried to view any of the shows through that, how can we be sure if it says unsubscribed that we're not getting charged then?
Its XL? ok, cool thanks...

(I do somewhat wonder if their going to keep Teleport TV considering that seems to be almost exactly what Virgin Central is, but at the moment Teleport TV offers different shows so I'd like the choice between the two while its still on offer, preferably without having to pay per show! you get more choice with Teleport TV than with Virgin Central I think *tch* )

Who has this new EPG, is that just new customers that have signed up to Virgin Media and were never Telewest or NTL customers? when I press the Telewest button on my remote control, the buttons/options still read 'Teleport Replay', 'Teleport TV', 'Teleport Life' etc. and has the Telewest logo on the screen...

So I presume that it wouldn't cost me to watch anything there?... hmmm... I've found something else to watch anyway so I'll maybe just leave it incase. I've got to say my family isn't much happy the way things seem to be going *shrug*

I guess that makes sense about the PIN, thanks for the clear up with that

I thought thats kind of what Teleport is?! gah I can't get my head around all of this stuff... I can be a bit of a computer geek but I just can't seem to get my head around how cable services work

I haven't heard anything about a software update (I take it that will be done automatically when the cable box picks it up from transmission sometime (or however that works) and resets the box?)

I have a Ex-Telewest TV Drive downstairs and a normal Pace box upstairs. The TV Drive has the new VM EPG and the old box still has old telewest epg

The update will put you on to virgin's software, rather than telewest's,no major difference, mainly new look and some different names for services.

Okay thats what I guessed, well it'll be less confusing, at least there will be only one brand name involved (if you know what I mean) when you go to the EPG/settings 'home page' area or whatever you call it anyway...

I remember something similar to this with it showing "unsubscribed" when Teleport TV first launched on Telewest. I think there may have been an initial period when it was free for everybody, so it's possible that this is a side effect of the three month free trial and that it will display correctly as "subscribed" when it reverts to being free only on the XL TV package.

And so the confusion continues lol ok... it does put me off wanting to watch something from the selection there though... dont trust them too much... what they should do is have a note that says something like 'nb for supreme/XL package customers this is free' but there's nothing to say that... since thats always been the case, they should have put a note like that next to all the shows so incase the status is incorrect people could still read that and know that the cable provider is saying that their entitled to see the content without paying extra... oh well, alot of things could be done in a perfect world I guess but thats a long way off *shrug*

As I understand it, Virgin Central will allow ALL users (M, L and XL) FREE access to a limited number of On Demand shows, series will be rotated periodically so that they can see all the eps.

The "Full Monty" TV Choice VoD services are then the big brothers that you can either pay to subscribe to (included in XL package) or pay per show (M and L users)

Just ignore the "unsubscribed" message on Teleport i've raised this issue with Technical Support and it's been clarified as some sort of software glitch, so supreme TV customers (Size XL) don't worry you still can watch all the Teleport content for FREE!!

At the moment all Teleport content is free for 3 months across the lower packages Size M & Size L which they'd normally pay £5 a month for, Virgin Media haven't really advertised this fact and i pointed this out to my friend on the Size L package who was excited by all the free content available.

Okay, thats good to know, thanks this is what this place is good for, it makes you more aware of special offers that maybe aren't overly advertised, as well as other goings-ons... thanks for the clarification

If you need it in writing it's on the bottom of the letter about Virgin Central. We're keeping this letter in a safe place in case they accidentally charge us.

All this extra VOD content for free certainly help on the rainy days

Okay can I ask, after this initial 3 month free trial period is up, whats going to cost us as XL package customers and what do we get included in our monthly package cost? Teleport is free and Virgin Central is free but I'd presume that the on demand shows would still cost for all as its called on demand like PPV that would indicate that their all shows or movies or whatever with specific individual costs associated with them(?)

sorry im such a slow learner with all this stuff *sigh* my brains frazzled lol
