Tonight's Corrie Episode: Friday 02 March

Friday 2 March 7.30 - 8pm ITV1

Michelle (Kym Ryder) is on cloud nine after Sonny's (Pal Aron) surprise proposal and returns to the Rovers to tell everybody her news. Sonny seems distracted however and declines to join her celebrations in the pub with everybody else. The party commences when an unsuspecting Steve (Simon Gregson) arrives, Michelle can't resist sarcastically telling Steve her big news. A hurt Steve can't help but blurt out what he knows about Sonny and Sean's (Antony Cotton) affair. To everybody in the Rovers this is just a far fetched way of Steve getting back at Michelle. No-one believes he actually has her best interests at heart. Michelle looks at him in pity as a dejected Steve is led out of the Rovers by Lloyd (Craig
Charles). Will Michelle ever discover the truth?

Liam (Robert James Collier), under fire from the Underworld girls for their strenuous work load, consults Paul (Sean Gallagher) about finding a replacement for Janice (Vicky Entwistle). Carla (Alison King), aware she needs to get into Liam's good books, offers to give him one of her workers from the night-shift. A reluctant Liam agrees. The factory girls aren't happy when the Connors employ Vicki from the night shift, but supply has to meet demand. Kelly is still
being cold shouldered by the other workers and tells Carla she can't continue working nights. Despite Carla's best efforts, Kelly (Tupele Dorgu) can't take the agro from the day-shift girls any longer, there is a firm divide in the Underworld workplace.

Unsuspecting cabbie Jamie (Rupert Hill) gets a shock when his pick-up at the station turns out to be none other than Leanne (Jane Danson)! The journey back to the street is awkward but the atmosphere thaws as the two agree to a drink back at Jamie's. The two reflect on their rollercoaster history and past mistakes,
neither can any longer point the finger of blame at the other. With Janice still away with Roger and, Les (Bruce Jones) not around, Jamie offers Leanne a room for the night at his place. But is it all too much for Leanne to accept?

Elsewhere, Ashley (Steven Arnold) worries about the level of Claire's (Julia Haworth) involvement with Casey (Zoe Henry).

This episode is written by Chris Fewtrell, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Nigel Keen.

Sounds quite good tonight. Looking forward to leanne's return. Although this Jamie-picking-her-up-in-a-taxi nonsense is terribly contrived.

Interesting suitcase colour there, Leanne. Bright.

I think a good storyline would be Vernon losing his hands. :S

Good episode tonight.
I have to say that I really like Michelle Connor as a charcter. I was one of the ones who, at the beginning, slated the producers decision to give Kym Ruder a full time position on Corrie - but I have to say, she has been a fantastic addition to the cast and I hope she'll be there for a long time.

IF Sonny the Money (as Vernon called him ) really had intended to propose to Michelle, why didn't he have a proper ring with him?

A very good episode tonight, all good scenes produced.

Michelle/Steve stuff was good and a good end to the episode, but it would have been better having it as the cliffhanger for the Monday 1st episode. Would have also been good to have Blanche and Norris in the pub-where is Blanche??!!

Underworld stuff was quite good and interesting to see a Polish character.

Jamie/Leanne stuff was also very good and liked their chat.

The best episode of the week easily beating the Monday disaster imo.

Overall...7.5/10

Did anyone else feel the editing tonight was a bit off?

First scene: Sean talks to Michelle outside then walks off
Second scene: As quick as a flash he's in the factory clocking in.

Another scene: Michelle is about to leave the pub to go to lunch with Sonny.
Next Scene: Wham! She's magically teleported herself to the resturaunt in a matter of seconds

Another scene:
Jamie takes money off Leanne to go to the pub and buy booze
Next Scene: Michelle and Sean's teleporting skills seemed to have rubbed off on him as he enters the pub about 2 seconds after taking the money off Leanne!

I know it's not strictly supposed to be in 'real-time' but surely having a different scene in between these ones wouldn't have hurt!

It was a very good episode tonight, in my opinion. Well paced and scripted.

For me, the strongest scenes concerned the Jamie and Leanne stuff, and the Michelle/Sonny/Sean/Steve saga. Everything was pretty engaging and there didn't seem to be any unnecessary charcaters floating about for the sake of it.

The weaker scenes were in the factory, but even they were well scripted and I quite like the workers vs management storyline. The only thing that consistently annoys me is that there's always someone missing wthout explanation. Recently Sally was gone for weeks and tonight Hayley was missing. Never mind the explained absence of Janice - the staff should be more concerned that other random people go missing! Having said that, it's quite feasible that people would be taking annual leave.

All in all, a good episode that seemed to flow nicely. A good contrast to the turgid stuff on Monday with the bomb scare.

A better episode tonight.

It was good to see the fabulous Jane Danson back as Leanne. I liked the way that her & Jamie just seemed to slip back into being friends. It was good that they were both big enough to admit that they've done stuff that was perhaps "questionable".

Underworld stuff wasn't too bad. I liked Sally getting bolshie about working conditions at Underworld. I also like Carla's comment about it not being the 1970s now. Wonder how long Kelly will manage to stay away from the night shift if she's that desperate for the money?

Michelle / Sonny / Sean stuff wansn't too bad, although it was more obvious tonight that Sonny & Michelle do have some sort of chemistry together whilst he & Sean have absolutely none.
The stuff in the restaurant was a bit weak I felt. In a previous episode he said that he wanted to take her there to talk but tonight he admitted that he didn't even have the nerve to ask her to move in. So, one must assume that her raising the subject emboldened him somewhat. Which leaves me wondering what on earth he had been planning to talk to her about if she'd not raised the subject of moving their relationship on.
However the best stuff of the episode had to be the final scene with Steve & Michelle. Kym Ryder put in a sterling performance as Steve delivered his shock announcement & Simon Gregson had some great facial expressions.

Liked Lloyd's Jim Bowen Bullseye take-off too.

7 out of 10.

Sean was only outside the factory when he was talking to Michelle and Jamie only just walked down the street so theres no problem with timing there. The Michelle going to the restaurant one was a bit strange though

A good *********free episode.

I wonder if Leanne paid her cab fare

Michelle may not be suspicious now but she might be when Sundeep asks Sean to move in as a lodger.

Vermin is growing on me
