Bobby Davro: I'm Never on the Telly...Ever! Boo-hoo!

Anyone seen the great Kleenex ads for Comic Relief?Includes some of your favourite 80s comedians-now-has-beens(sadly). Here you can watch plus the even funnier out-takes(especially Les Dennis' ones!). Also, do any of you think some of the things they say, are actually accurate of how they feel. I feel this strongest with Bobby Davro's account, as he's probably had the least tv appearances since the 80s. It's a shame, i would've liked to have seen these guys play some part in Comic Relief, as it's a time to unite old with new comedy talent. But they're probably happy with the cheque they're getting for this anyway. Pity Les didn't do his Mavis impression too!

Bobby Davro

Bob Carolgees

Keith Harris

Les Dennis

Extra Footage (funny!)

I can't forget one of Bobby Davro's dives when he appeared on C4's The Games

He's like a squashed Jim Davidson. Awful impressionist, hopeless comic.

He should never have left Dr Who or dropped the 's' off the end of his name, and having 2 legs ruined the whole Dalek Wheelchair illusion for me.

Spit the Dog is a legend. An early TV rebel!

He's much more entertaining than Catherine Tate and Peter Kay anyways.

It's really saddening that these people are having the piss ripped out of them for being entertainers in the 80's. Maybe in 10 years time, there will be adverts taking the piss out of Stewart Lee and Adam Buxton and other 90's comedians.

The lesson here is; Don't be an entertainer. You'll only have the piss ripped out of you by tissue paper adverts anyway.

I never really liked him, until he presented a revised "Winner Takes All" quiz on Challenge TV a few years ago. He was fairly funny on that.

Don't agree there, Jim Davidson is one of the funniest comics I've seen, either on telly or on stage. Absolutely hilarious on stage, until Jimmy Carr complained about him.

What an historical revision! Plenty of people have disliked Davidson since the 1980s, I can assure you.

Bob Carolgees' one was great, funnier than anything Ricky Gervais has ever done.

"a watch dog" genius!

Brilliant. Thanks to the OP for posting those links.

Bring em all back I say, give today's comediennes a run for their money. Wouldn't be too hard, most of them are tripe in my op.

Me included. I`ve always disliked Davidson with an absolute passion. Not only unfunny but thoroughly unpleasant as well.

Anyone else get the impression that when Les Dennis was ranting about Ricky Gervais, he was really thinking about Neil Morrissey?
