Louis: I wasn't pushed from 'X Factor'

http://www.unison.ie/irish_independe...issue_id=15355

Quote:
LOUIS WALSH was adamant yesterday that he quit 'The X Factor'. He maintains he wasn't pushed from his judging job on the reality ITV show, which carried a salary of over €500,000 for three months' work.

And there is no question of a row with either of his fellow judges, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne. It's one big happy family.
Quote:
"I wasn't axed. They wanted to bring in some new judges and Simon called me and asked me to step aside for a year but I've had enough.

"I liked doing the auditions but I hated the live show, it was a lot of pressure for me and I was at that airport in Dublin every day and I didn't want it anymore."

He was looking tired and emotional at the end of the last series and he seems to have a lot coming up band-wise this year. Also, all the spats between him and Simon in the past have been rumoured to be put on and that they're really good friends off-screen. I think the rumours of him being gutted are possibly a publicity stunt between him and Simon to keep the X Factor in the news - after all, he stands to make a lot of money managing next year's winner - IF the next series if a success. Or am I a cynic?

I agree. Maybe he should sort out his story.

Well I watched him on irish TV on Saturday night and the words coming out of his mouth dont quite match the newspaper piece. He said he was wanting to leave tp concentrate on his day job, all too stressful in Nov/Dec but his sacking came out of the blue. He was with Simon in LA the week before and was sourcing songs in Stockholm when he got the call. He was bemused as to why Simon had not warned him.

So slightly different spin form Louis.

I can see why he wanted to pull out but why wouldnt Simon sit down and tell him. That seems very unfair.

It IS unfair and disreputable. I've had to face redundancy in the past and it's so much easier if your boss sits you down and tells you - it's respectful and it values you. To pass that on to some underling who probably didn't even know Louis and Kate is unprofessional and cowardly.

Here's a clip of Louis being interviewed a couple of months ago.

I wonder if he feels the same way about Simon now?

Louis was on Chris moyles radio show this morning and said he was axed and it was a producer that phoned him not Simon.

Simon is mean and nasty and horrible - does anyone have a good word to say about him? Ratting out a mate like that is unforgiveable.

Why was he at the airport every day?
