How come the keys chosen for the songs are nearly always too low for the singer?
I've been noticing this all the way through the series, especially tonight when the men had to start "Putting on the Ritz" in a key that was way too low for all of them. That's why their singing sounded so iffy. It's happened a couple of times with Tara and Mel too; they keep having to start a song way down in their boots. I suspect it's because the key has been chosen with the chorus in mind, as it's usually the verse that's too low and then the chorus goes higher. But if a note is too low for a singer's range, they're stuffed; there's nothing they can do. At least they can have a stab at a high note!
