End of Everybody Loves Raymond

I had got into a nice morning routine of watching Everybody Loves Raymond while having breakfast - although would have been perfectly happy with just the one episode per morning.

Had just settled down with a cup of coffee to watch the second of the episodes to be greeted by a prog about the Cheltenham Festival. Oh well, I thought, I guess it will just be the one programme per day then until the racing is over so checked my Radio Times to find that todays was the "last ever episode" - my mornings will be much less enjoyable as a result.

My point is though that there must be loads of episodes that Channel 4 have not screened (the kids suddenly shot up in age from one day to the next) and anyway if they didn't have rights to them all why not just show one a day. It's obvious that Channel 4 don't care much about getting into a rut (Friends anybody?) so why not just show one a day until they run out

My mornings are not going to be as happy from now on

sorry but you're too late. Channel4 ran full seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond (i.e. the first EVER episode all the way up to the latest) TWICE last year in the mornings. They then ran the full thing in the evenings as well.

so thats 3 times they've shown basically every episode. They're now showing them again because there's a new series, but i don't expect them to run them from the beginning again. cos they've already done it a number of times now.

they didnt show them in the evenings for very long tho, due to poor ratings.
I agree that mornings are goin to be rubbish now it's stopped, I liked getting ready for work watching raymond, wonder if theres anyway we could change channel 4's mind?!!

I didn't realise that Echelon - I am a fairly recent convert. I have seen pretty much all of the first three series and then odd episodes of others. Certainly in this recent run they made a jump from a relatively early series to the last one.

Oh well my bad luck then but I still wish they had just shown the one episode a day to make it last.

Ray had some minor surgery and had a little difficulty coming round afterwards prompting the family to face the thought of him dying. This brought them all closer and the final scene was them all having breakfast around the kitchen table together.

*Boyle.

Just Shoot Me is replacing it in the double slot; single alongside the gee-gees starting tomorrow.

I recorded the C4, 8 a.m. programme to watch tonight and I was a bit confuddled because it said (R) after the programme, meaning it was a repeat, but to my knowledge the last ever ELR has never been shown on C4

it was show near the start of last year in the mornings as usual.

the only thing i noticed with this rerun is they showed the whole season this time(the first time they cut out 2 episodes due to the sexual nature of them)

if you are a fan its best to try and catch it on paramount as c4 since they first started showing them have missed out the odd few episodes per season for the reasons above.

Hee hee. Peter Boyle was actually a bit of an old hippie, John Lennon was his best man at his wedding.

I will really miss ELR! I don't think I will like Just Shoot Me as much.

Why do C4 keep repeating Friends but not other shows? Much as I love it I wouldn't mind some more innovative programming on a morning!

Yeh, they usually start at the beginning around twice a year then stop, but this year they started at the start of the final season so ive missed quite a lot.

I didn't know the last series had been shown on Channel 4... I've been watching it on Paramount Comedy. I thought if a show is played on a cable TV channel then that channel plays newer episodes to the ones being played on terrestrial channels(?) anyway if anyones interested, I know ELR is on tonight at 9pm as part of 'Make Mine a Double' (ie 2 episodes back to back from 9 to 10pm) on Paramount Comedy 1...

and maybe that post about the last ep should be put in spoiler tags... I don't want to know what happens at the end until the end, aw it sounds a bit sad

I remember reading about Peter Boyle dying, very sad it sounded like he was a pretty tough guy! he'd worked with a lot of good actors etc... interesting guy...
