Mel and Tim

I am really surprised that Mel and especially Tim went out so early.

They both gave great comedic, entertaining performances - after all this is Comic Relief and is what the show is supposed to be about.

I must admit after the first show, I thought Mel was going to be one of the finalists!

Anyone got any views as to why they both went out so early?

I'm now pretty ambivalent about who wins

Agree completely, I've been really dissapointed with the voting, Tim, mel & Fred great comedy value.

TPT don't get it, same for angelica, i'd rather watch the comedy element than listen to people who can't sing.

I agree, but it seems that the voting public don't like people who are both entertaining and can sing really well. Apparently it's more fun to watch the likes of Colin, Ray and Angellica catawauling night after night.

That would have been funny !!

Have to say both group efforts last night, especially Colin, Ray, Tricia and Angelica, were dire!

The standard has really gone down from previous versions of Comic Relief Does Fame academy.

In previous years we've had really good singers and/or really good entertainers, but this year's batch have been disappointing especially as some of the more entertaining ones (IMO) were voted out early.

I agree it was sad to lose both Tim and Mel - I voted for Mel a number of times - but obviously was in a minority.

The vote on many nights has followed and reversed the running order, Mel and Tim went out when on early, Shaun, Tricia and Tara all ended in the last 3.

Mel and Tim both did subtle intelligent comedy. Ade's was intelligent but no one would call him subtle, Ruby best nothing said.

Its looking as if a lot of voters think its BB and they are voting to evict people for singing badly.

Otherwise the voting makes no sense - it doesn't follow the soap stars or the best singers or the funniest or wackiest. It might logically follow someone like angellica who is trying and on a journey even if she is not very good but the bad singing vote is actually sustaining three or four people whilst the people with any ability go around them.

Mel and Tim would have been great together, maybe even doing some comedy duets. I really think this FA has been a shambles and the viewers and judges have been nuts.

I was absolutely gutted about these two being voted off. I thought comic relief was about comedy The two funniest voted off straight away. All the others seem to be taking it so seriously. Have they confused it with X Factor and think they are getting a recording contract?

Here, here.

I suspect the public vote has been more random this year but the judge's votes have been even more of a problem. Taking Tim and Mel as examples:

Richard Park's vote for Zoe guaranteed that a comedian went out when he could have given them a 50:50 option of Zoe/Tim or Zoe/Mel.

Mel went out with two non-comedians in the bottom 3 - the judges had the option of saving a comedian rather than saving the best singer (who would probably been saved by the contestants anyway).

The judges clearly have choreographed panto comments on the performances which seem to bear no relation to what's happened in the circle. Given that, there is little reason for them to vote based on "who is the best singer" but rather who would be most entertaining in the later shows.

If the voting has been higher based on their choices, fantastic. But I suspect losing all the comedians by Monday night was a big own goal in a COMIC RELIEF show.

It really would have been superb ~ sob!

PS: loving the "respectable" gag ~ maybe they should have dueted on that?!

I thought Tim was fabulous and was gutted that he went so early, he could still be there if it hadn't been for that Fred voting against him. Fred's about as funny as rabies in a guide dog's home.
