My internet speed is slow today

Yesterday my internet speed was quite fast, now its running slow today

It took me approx 3mins for this page to load, when i clicked on "start new thread" it took 3mins, weird.

Does anyone know a way for free to boost my internet connection? i use firefox and my friend who shares my internet connection uses Internet Explorer 6 or 5, i have bt broadband wireless option 2. My usage allowance is 6gb per month, i only use like 2 or 3 gb per month maybe even less. I am really confused by this. My friend hardly uses his internet connection, most when searching for jobs. I find it really weird that it is running slow today.

Does anyone have a link where it explains how wireless broandband works? maybe it will help me more to understand the internet. I always assume we are in traffic, which means more then 1 person is connected to the same server and the more bandwith we all use the smaller the speed goes, kind a like the traffic in a motor way.

Tried FasterFox?

Or Go to the toolbar, type in 'about:config' (without the quote marks)

This should give you a screen full of text.

Then scroll down until you find a line called 'network.http.pipelining.maxrequests'

set the value to at least 10.

Then scroll a bit to find 'network.http.pipelining' and double click it so the value is 'true'.

That's it........close the session down, then start Firefox again and see how fast stuff loads.

It happens sometimes. Probably just a lot of people using your local hub. Around lunch (you posted at 1342) can be a very busy time. Nothing to do with your own setup I expect.
