New Grand Canyon GLASS sky walk opens - brave enough?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6469941.stm

Would you be brave enough to walk around the new glass skywalk at the Grand Canyon. I did the glass floor in the CN Tower which was amazing but there wasnt much to see.

I honestly dont think I could walk right round this though. Could you?

I saw it on tv earlier. I think I'd need to see a few people already on it before I attempted it!
(Not too many of course, then I'd panic that it could collapse!)

No.

I might potentially be able to crawl around it, whimpering.

"Walk"? No way. That would be a step too far (you should pardon the pun ).

I wish I could walk around it, and enjoy it! I think it would be an amazing experience.

I agree with that actually. For all the money they spent, you'd think they'd come up with something more impressive.

Or at least more elegant.

But I'd love to go walk on it.

Just a thought.

Any bets on how long it takes before someone jumps and it's closed?

Another thing - looking at the pic on the website it looks as if it's dipped down a bit!? Like its tilted just a little?! Maybe just my eyes

That's what I thought.

Has anyone been to that tall building in Canada (the name escapes me). The only thing that seperates you from a splattery death and smashed open head is toughened glass. You can see right down to the ground.

No. No. NO.

And just thinking about the fact that people would have had to construct the thing makes my knees go wobbly.

But then I start to freeze on the fifth rung of a ladder.

Sounds like fun!

I'd only really enjoy it if all the other tourists, especially the kids, were banned whilst I went there.

Never dreamt I'd have the courage, but last year having seen my sons do it, I tentatively walked onto a glass floor high above the Austrian alps. The 5 seconds I stood on it were amazing!

I dont think i'd be able to...theres concrete sides though so you could walk on those bits and just look through the glass...maybe I agree it could look better though! Why not make it blend in a bit, some fake rockery around it or something??

Yes, I'd love it. I'd love to walk across one of those rope ladders they use in 'I'm a Celebrity'....

I've been to the Sky Tower in in Auckland, NZ, which has a glass panel on the floor, and a glass-bottomed lift. It's an interesting sensation standing there with 'nothing' under your feet.

Nope, no, not on your life, wild horses etc! I can't even climb turrets in castles, why would I want to balance off the side of a mountain. Perish the thought.

I take my hat off to those that could though, bloody brave lot!!!

Oof I could never do that.
Crossing the Pontcysllte Aqueduct makes me squeam, and I was almost half dead on the London Eye! Saying that, the Eye was quite enjoyable once you'd got used to it.

Indeed, it is a feat of engineering... although you'd never get me on it!
