Anyone getting sick of the way EE

teases its audience?

When Max first came him and Jim were stalemates and had a true hatred for one another (well Max did) and it all stemmed from what Jim supposedly did to his mother. Now was this storyline fully explored or did they just say Jim cheated on Max’s mother and that was it, because I got the sense they were really going to get to the core of this back story and give it a decent build up but Stax seems to have scampered all that

Now on to the Slater’s, For nights on end Stacey was whinging about being reunited with her sick mother then when she gets her wish she acts like it is a burden? During the festive period all she wanted to do was have a sh*g with Max totally pointless on EE’s part to make the audience anticipate this big family reunion only to have Stacey suddenly not care.

Jean was billed as the second coming but what has her appearance really meant? She came and none of her children even gave a damn, hell she is hardly ever on the show, EE then gives us a little glimpse into something that happened between her, Sean and daddy Slater only to forget about it?

I know Sean is suspended and all but when he was around he was kind of pointless he has a relationship with Chelsea but yet shows no interest in her, it was like his whole existence/role revolved around what Tanya and Max were up to. Why is he pursuing Tanya so badly again when all that will mean in the end is he’ll have to PLAY the step father. Which character wise doesn’t really ring true does it?

I know some might read this and say it really isn’t that bad but EE (or any soap in this country ftm) doesn’t have recap montages before the opening credits so these teases or long gaps in potential storylines don’t really work to the betterment of the show, most of us would have forgotten or not care by the time TPTB do come around to progressing stories

I completely agree with this post. EE gives us these characters and potential plotlines that could be really exciting...then does absolutely nothing with them!!

They should have explored the Jim/Max storyline thoroughly before diverting Max onto the Stacey affair, it would have really good viewing.

Then they hint at something between Sean/Jean and their father....then do absolutely nothing with any of them. Sean is kept as a schoolyard bully and Jean is never on screen.

They must be saving these storylines till later...but by then most people arn't gonna give a toss. It's so annoying!

That's the whole point of Soapland..

I for one, dont care how long I have to wait because when the Stax affair comes out.. You can be sure there's going to be fireworks!

It's what's known as ''keeping their options open".

Well there was no interent or nothing liek that back then and people weren't coming on webforums to talk about it. I'm sure if they were EE would still be getting people angry back then as it is now. Thats what forums are about.

Well they'd better not wait too long or people may switch off altogether. I just posted in the episode thread that they have a lot of storylines going at the mo that are too dark and depressing. They're trying to cram so much in that we don't get time to care about any of them.

As for Stax coming out

Another thing is the argument between Ruby and Stacey before Ruby flounced off was cut out. Its hugely important to what is happening with Stacey yet Kate Harwood bizarrely felt that it was not important.

The whole point of Christmas in terms of Stacey, Jean, Sean, was that it was the anniversary of Brian's death. I think Stacey was hoping for a family Christmas but with Bradley dumping her and Sean avoiding Jean, Christmas became pointless and a waste of time to her. The Christmas week should have laid some groundwork in terms of Stacey's despair and loneliness and also provided some teasers for the Jean and Sean situation, aslo giving us some background on Stacey's relationship with her father might have added alot.

Because they rushed into the Max storyline, they completely ignored the situation with Stacey, Sean, and Jean.

Stacey's mental state is clearly going to be the catalyst for the Jean, and Sean storyline, yet even that they have not focused on that much.
