Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum knocked Edinburgh Castle off the top spot of Scotland's busiest attractions for the first time.

Would explain why when I went back to the Kelvingrove in October, for the first time since restoration, all the new interactive exhibits were broken!

Pretty much, yeah.
I like some parts, but others are a bit naff.

The Dali is in a rather obscure place IMO.
Good to hear the organ getting some use though, and to see some old exhibits dragged up from the vaults.

The lower space is good too - but a little wasted imo. A shop - a restaurant - an exhibition space and some learning rooms for schools.
I thought they'd be expanding space for their permanent displays.

It’s a bit of a mix really, and I certainly don’t see what all the fuss is about.
Why is it so much more popular all of a sudden? Not that much has changed really.

I'll be more interested to see the new Botanic Gardens!
Shame they had to scrap the underground areas.

i could say it is the billions being spent in glasgow, which is looking amazing these days. we have dozens of new hotels and thousands more hotel beds since the kelvingrove closed for renovation. the tourists have to go somewhere. the new museum of transport will also be a big attraction.

Oh yeah, forgot about that too.
Hope they have an old fashioned street thing like the present one - with the cinema and old subway station.

Yeah I agree, Glasgow is looking great these days - love all the colourful lighting at night... I just fail to see what's so brilliant about the Kelvingrove that it's suddenly become the most popular attraction in the country!

Mind you, the minute they start hyping it up, people are bound to flood in.
Kelvingrove has been all over the news.
