Anyone been to Capo Vaticano? - General Discussion

We are going to Capo Vaticano in Calabria in Southern Italy in 3 weeks time and I was just wondering if anybody had been there for a holiday? We are staying in the Hotel Sciaron on the headland and I was just wondering what the bus service was like, what bars there are, places to visit etc.

Hmmm beautiful coastline and beaches, Tropea is a pretty village, but not much going on there to be honest...

We are really going there for the clear sea and white beaches and an occasional trip into Tropea. Any other nice places in the area?

If you can, pop to Taormina in Sicily or visit the Eolie Islands, they are volcanic so the sand is black but the sea is crystal clear and warm!

Where do the boat trips to the Eolie Islands start from? Can you get them from Tropea or do you have to travel to Sicily first?
