Dermot was intending to update this page this week himself in order to: (1) to show that he isn’t too starry and (2) to re-assert himself as he’s been very envious of all the attention Simon and I have been getting.

However, his jet set lifestyle has meant that his fans, colleagues and admirers have been let down once again. He is in Oslo this week with his lovely partner Dee. Those of you who read Heat will know that she comes from there. How else could you explain why her dad is called Roar? Honestly. Anyway, when Dermot is out there it is like being at school as everyone is twice his size and no one knows who he is. And Roar frequently bogwashes him and steals money from his pockets.

So last Saturday we did our show. Dermot had sushi for lunch and a terriaki noodle soup which he didn’t finish. So next time he is banging on about Africa and famine, do remind him of his gluttony. In the evening he went to a fish restaurant to celebrate his birthday which is this week. I think he had breen. Once again we weren’t invited. Though he did have a mountain expedition leader as a guest which I can’t compete with. All my anecdotes are about Millwall, chocolate Labradors or Ken Bruce. Hers were something else. Yes that’s right, the mountain expedition leader is a she. Finally some equality for our sisters. And they are getting equal pay at Wimbledon. Well done ladies.

I had lunch with Dermot on Monday. He drank water. I can’t remember what he ate. I was too busy getting lost in his dreamy eyes. When he finally broke my gaze we were able to discuss the new album we have coming out at the end of June which is the best of our Radio 2 live sessions, featuring lots of the big names we’ve had on the show… Oasis, The Foo Fighters, The Feeling, Mika, The View, Massive Attack, Beck, James Morrison, Lily Allen, KT Tunstall…

Sexuality Update: After falling for Rufus Wainwright, Dermot kept everyone guessing by showing up at the Mika concert on Monday. He had a delicious time and even took Dee with him as his cover story.

When he gets back on Saturday we have The Little Ones and Wilco both in session on the show. And Neil Tennant on the phone.

Then Big Brother starts next week. He has been up at Elstree a fair amount rehearsing BBLB. As ever he is remaining rather quiet about what will be on the show. Not that he is being deliberately elusive, but more that he isn’t the sharpest tool in the box (he has a media degree, I rest my case) so they only tell him things a few minutes before he needs to know them. Why do you think he is always holding a clipboard? Even when he is not on camera, he carries one to remind him of simple tasks.

Hopefully he will update this next week with tales of Scandinavia and the first weekend of BB.
