No Profit From Big Brother Vote

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6698689.stm

Channel 4 has said it will not profit from phone lines on the eighth series of Big Brother, after controversy over its handling of a previous vote.

It has halved the cost of taking part in the eviction process to 25p per call, with 15p spent on administration fees and the rest going to charity.

This will help to keep the process "fair and transparent", Channel 4 said....

In a further change to ensure a more "transparent" voting process, viewers will no longer be able to participate through text messages.

This is because of the lack of time during live broadcasts for mobile phone operators to count and verify the votes in the way that Channel 4 demands.

Nice of Channel 4, the whole show depends on people voting I do not care whether they give the money to charity or not, I just don't want a repeat of last year when the viewers and especially those that voted were taken as fools.

I think BB this year is trying to be sweet as pie because of the previous claimed mistakes they have made... Good on them to try and correct it I say.

PS: Roll on BB8, I can't wait!

I wonder how much it will cost from Ireland. Or if we'll be allowed to vote at all this year

Good news, but not enough to convince me to vote. Not after the Victor fiasco

What Victor fiasco?!?

IMO, he was quite rightly evicted when he was.

I want to add the Science fiasco to that one. So that's two reasons for me not to vote

That's good of them. They must make enough money from Big Mouth, BBLB, live streaming sign-ups, and advertising anyway.

Yes, nice of Channel 4 to halve the price when the proceeds are going to charity not to them!
