Best market in london for clothes???
Hi all...
My sister is doing a fashion based project at uni and wants to find the "best" market for fake designer clothes in london. Basically she is discussing an argument based around the need for fake and copies to keep a black market economy running and how much in theory its an indusry in itself! She has a tough task of locating some markets in london, would ones like portobello, camden, wembley be the best?? she is in portobello tomrow, but wants to know if it better to go to camden or somewhere else even to see what the trends are in terms of stalls and so on thanks in advance!!! |

Camden is more punk rock so wont be many fakes it will be all original clothing but thats best left for a sat or sunday and i think wembley markets open on sundays only.
Bovingdon market isnt in london but might be worth looking there as a lot of fake stuff is there |

I used to go to Portobello alot to get vintage stuff (back in the day!). Not been for donkey's years though so who knows. Ditto Camden. There was also one in Kensington IIRC.

Camden and Portobello sell vintage clothes so if she is going for fakes they would be the wrong place. She should try liverpool street market (early on sunday - it's only there on sunday) and the market in Dalston - they sell mostly food, but there are some clothes stalls.

If you're looking for fake designer clothes you should try any of the East London markets. You'll find plenty of Gucci handbags and Prada sunglasses for around the £20 mark ...
