Is there anyone who disliked Emily before who thinks she should have stayed!
It seems a lot of people liked her and now feel C4 made the right decision, and have changed their view of her.
However a lot of people on the forums think she shouldn't have gone. I want to know are there any people out there who really disliked Emily but feel Channel 4 went too far. Or are all the people who say she shouldn't have been removed, the ones who liked her before the incident |

i'm just glad she's gone...I didn't like her, but I never expected her to come out with what she did. I thought she deserved to go.

The only problem is that, apart from one fight, nothing has happened without Emily in there. We need these two men to spice things up pronto!

I didn't like Emily. But I think C4's reaction was a knee jerk one, aimed solely at currying favour with Ofcom and the GBP after the CBB fiasco. I think Emily should have stayed and been made to face up to the fact that what she said was unacceptable to most people.

Yes, that's it. Always blame the PC Brigade and not the person who said the word.

But I don't like that she was given the scapegoat treatment. And I'm not in the least bit jealous of her bum...

I did not like Emily at all but feel she has been treated very unfairly.
She should never have been made to leave for such a trivial matter. |

I didn't like her, but she shouldn't have had to go like this. She did need to be punished, and the problem is that BB has no credible system of punishments. In BB5 she might have been given a formal warning, but BB5 also devalued formal warnings so that wouldn't work now. Nor would putting her on a "naughty step" or taking away her make-up. Virtually all BB punishments are now part of the game, and it is not appropriate to treat Emily's offensive comment as a game. So BB was left with only one sanction. This is a failing of BB.
I also think it is sad that so many people choose to be so offended by the word she used. I find it hard to understand, just as I find it hard to understand why Americans are so offended by insults to their flag. |

She deserved to go. She was nothing special and would have been early fodder anyway. |

Me too. I've had three dreams about her on consecutive nights.
![]() Yes, I think that people should consider why they're getting offended by certain things. It's a good thing to address. |

However... there is no excuse for what she said and she had to go. I would have felt the same even if she'd been my favourite HM. |

Channel 4 just made an example of her to try and show how they'd 'changed' since CBB5.
They should have brought her to the diary room, given her a formal warning and as her punishment made her apologise to the group and Charley and discuss the reasons why people could have been offended by what she said. It was a good opportunity for a proper debate on the use of the word, and educate a younger generation like Emily on the true origins of the word. A word they hear all the time used by rappers and people they may want to imitate or think they are 'cool' by doing so. |

I don't think C4 had a choice, really. Didn't like Emily much anyway, so don't miss her.

I disliked her but I think a severe warning would've been enough instead of ejecting her. But I guess they had to do it after the race row of CBB5.
And I felt really sorry for her watching BBLB yesterday, she seems genuinely shocked and sorry for what she said. I hope she doesn't get a rough time outside the house like the coven did, she was nowhere near as bad as they were. |

I didn't like her but I think possibly.
I think perhaps it could have been dealt with in another way. Maybe bring together Emily, Charley, and Nicky into a room and have a discussion about what happened and how people feel. Yes it was probably a serious issue that needed to be dealt with, but the way that it was dealt with seemed to be more about BB giving itself brownie points. When Emily first said the word....I question why BB didn't drag her IMMEDIATELY into the diary room, and why were they allowing the three housemates to continue to talk about it? And why were they allowing Charley to repeatedly bring it up with other housemates? Surely BB should have acted immediately and told them that the issue was not to be further discussesd and that they would get back to all 3 housemates in due course. The way that it was done appeared to be allowing housemates to talk about it to ensure that they definitely made a big deal about it and to ensure that they had more juicy footage to show in order to get good ratings and make an example of Emily. The handling of it appeared to be focused more on making Emily a scapegoat and less about acting immediately. Maybe the right decision should have been to eject her, maybe it shouldn't. I don't know. But I think that the treatment of the issue didn't feel right and should maybe have shown a proper setup for discussion involving somebody from BB to lead it about what happened, as opposed to just letting Charley gossip about it so that they can get juicy footage and boost ratings. If it was a no brainer and Emily MUST have been ejected without a shadow of a doubt due to CH4 policy...then why were they waiting until 3.30am and allowing the HMs to gossip about it during the day? If it was that cut and dried then surely the decision to eject her should have been instant. What were they waiting for? Other minor incidents have had BB drag a housemate to the Diary room immediately. The Ofcom report criticised CH4 for not showing accurate context in CBB5 and sweeping important bits under the carpet whilst showing other bits. In this incident I don't think we are any clearer about the context. Nobody really knows for sure what the context was. "Are you pushing it out you n*gger" What the hell does that mean? It was nothing to do with dancing either which early reports claimed, it was just Charley showing her belly. |

I didn't like her while she was in the house, but the aftermath of the incident has been handled very badly.
Nobody deserves to be evicted in a nightie, with no underwear! Poor Emily.

I did not like her from day one and still don't but I think she should have been given given a stern warning and not been evicted.
