Shayne Ward New Album News - The X Factor

Hey Guys!

I've got the day off today so I wanted to sit down and write to you all to let you know what I've been up to, what I'm doing at the moment and what the plans are! As you know I had my debut UK arena tour at the start of the year which was an amazing time. I really enjoyed the show and had a great time on the road, thanks to all of you who came down to see the show.

As soon as the tour finished I had a couple of weeks holiday before flying out to Sweden to continue recording the new album. Im now 80% finished and its sounding fantastic, I'm really excited. The first single has been chosen and will be released on 13th August (I wanted you guys to know first!). It's written by Max Martin who is a huge producer around the world...he wrote most of Kelly Clarkson's last album, the list of his hits is endless! He loves the song and is very excited which is great. I'm also working really closely with Rami, Anthor + Savan who have worked on the whole album with me. The music is different from the first album, taking a more cooler, urban/pop edge. I'm really proud of the album and hopefully you guys will love it! It's got a real mixture of uptempo's, mid tempo's and a beautiful ballad.

I'm flying out to L.A. over the weekend to get ready for the videoshoot and photoshoot next week. We haven't confirmed the video treatment yet but it's nearly there...full on dance routines in this video! I've been working with Brian Friedman who is an unbelievable choreographer and he has been pushing me all the way.

I'll have all the new images from the photoshoot early July so you will all get to see the new campaign!

I then fly from L.A to Sweden to finish the album and will be back in the UK beginning of July to start the promotion for the new single, which im really excited about. It's going to be a busy year!

As you know I spent around 6 months last year promoting the first album internationally. It was an incredible experience and as I told you I travelled all over Asia, South Africa and many places in Europe....I found out a few weeks ago that I have been Number 1 in 9 different countries over the past 18 months! I was very chuffed!

I will definitely be back online to keep everybody updated with my movements and whats going on in my world!

Looks like he has been working with some really good writers and producers. He is going in the right direction..... The direction Louis SHOULD HAVE given him in the first place. No wonder the buffoon was sacked from the show.

Good luck to him, I hope he does really well.

I hope he is doing well too. Ive just listened to him singing Over the Rainbow again, and his version is still the best Ive ever heard!

Louis has said this is the direction he wants for him all along, it is Simon and BMG who made him put out the usual quick album release.

Simon and his people at Syco pick the producers and songs and they were not up to standard, so the crappy album is mainly their fault. It did manage decent sales because the marketing campaign was far better than with previous winners. However, it seems Simon does believe that Shayne could be a success, otherwise, he wouldn't have sent him to people like Max Martin.

I think it was sceduled for Aug 13th anyway so thats only 1 week difference. I wonder why they would bother? Maybe it clashes with another release

I think the new X Factor will be that weekend, but he won't be able to appear until the live shows unless there is a "Where are they now?" show.

but that wont stop them mentioning him every 5 minutes...telling us how brilliant his new single is and getting as much free publicity as possible

Oh good, lots and lots of Shayne Ward looking absolutely gorgeous, sexy and singing with that fabulous voice. Bring it on, I can't wait!

Oh and he can dance now too, how sexy of him. Voice of an angel Shayne's got. Shayne Ward is very reminisant of JT only 100 times better. Yummy!

well should love his new single, Louis said it as a similar sound to JT and he as been taught to dance like JT

I hope this is a start of a wonderful career. I keep having arguments with people about how X Factor people are successful, I am still defending the X Factor contenders and I keep saying they do have success have X Factor- but my hope is running out. If Leona and Shayne are not a success then I think I will have lost my faith.

At the moment, Leona and Shayne are the only hope for giving the X-Factor any credibility whatsoever in terms of successful artists afterwarsd. I really hope they both do well and from what I've heard regarding both of their careers, it's all sounding good so far.

Shayne sold around £690,000 worldwide [ That figure includes UK sales of 460,000]

Shayne Ward's debut album has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. That's pretty good I'd say

I remember SC saying that, he said 3 milion records sold [ meaning singles and albums] he was always very generous with figures , he said there had been a million pre-orders alone for Leona's single [ and that was not including over the counter sales] but she went on to sell 571,000.
