Remember when Pressing the Red Button was Brill?
This is for the memory of those viewers who watched BB4 and earlier, furthermore..
WHY has the red button coverage gone crap(in consideration of what is was before, it's very basic now) You could choose between camera A and B, you had a highlights section you could watch, that re-reunned over and over, and i think i recall you could watch the recent eviction(not the outside show) and how people reacted to it inside the house. It also contained the latest news which i recall was in BB5 red button coverage, but now it's stripped to the bare minimum. Ok, you can watch highlights and get news in Channel 4, but you didn't have to wait past a movie trailer and the Virgin sponser. Seems like it's all about the money. So why the dilution of the E4 red button service? |

I think they should bring that back.
It was really handy-that news section and the different camera angles. Why did they stop? |

The red button interactive service first started with bb2 in 2001.

What i recall is by the time of BB5, don't know if i'm correct or not, but there was something about paying for a live stream online where you could look from different camera's. Was this true or not?

That will never be back, it takes effort to run an extended service like that, and the days when effort was put into the show has long gone.
Remember when we had effort into the tasks, housemate selection and one or two GOOD twists. Along with a robust nominations system Instead of constant rubbish gimmicks, and pissing about with the format, the crap live feed is just one symptom of the overall sickness. IMO |

I dont think they can any more as the broadcast room (what ever you call it) is now taken up by More4.

I remember back in the day when E4 was great as well, when there was a little text thing at the bottom of the screen where you could text in your views etc. I loved seeing my message pop up along the bottom!
And the poll votes as well, I used to love watching the percentages go up and down about a particular topic. Does anyone remember these? |

I've always had NTL and they didn't support it like Sky did. I remember being jealous of family members watching it and being able to go into different views
![]() Even now my Virgin Media box isn't giving me E4 channel and yet I thought you got that with Freeview, which is what I've signed up for. |

As for the text comments, you could generate a laugh from them. My personal fav was from BB6, remember Craig all over Anthony and talking loads at late night? The text was "WELCOME TO THE CRAIG SHOW, WITH A SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE FROM ANTHONY HUTTON!. However, i mostly found them annoying, and glad the text comment on live BB is gone like depth-less, bad grammar messages like "Saskia 2 win cos she is fit!" You wanna see that again? If i had pound for those kind a messages, i would be a millionaire. Too many had shallow opinions, glad thats gone. |

This is the first year I've had red button streaming.
We don't have two cameras to choose from but I don't have to wait for the Hollyoaks omnibus to finish. ......That's pretty brill. |

Wow - oh yeah, I forgot about the on-screen text games. They were great
Though if I remember, the same person kept winning ALL the time! That was one of those things where you seriously had to have a LOT of phone credit to play!

I liked the scrolling updates (or whatever they were) down the bottom but it was absolutely full of spelling and grammatical errors. I emailed and offered my services as a sub-editor at one point (very sad I know!)

![]() I'm going to give them a ring up on Monday as I doubt they can do anything until then. It's weird, because when I press 144, all I get is previews.
