The Twins vs Chanelle
Is there going to be roles within the group dynamic for 3 teenage girls? History suggests that the younger females fail to survive beyond the middle weeks. With the unbalanced male / female HM ratio in place this year perhaps a new, previously unobtainable, opportunity exists?
I really don’t see how all 3 can fit in for a summer long tenure, and i have no evidence that the twins can operate as individuals, hence the topic title. So far we have seen Chanelle provide romance, arguments and dippy diary room moments. Sam and Amanda bring an uplifting spirit of fun and friendliness to the group. All 3 actually appear equipped with reasonable skills in social communication, always a useful tool within the BB house. What i feel they need to be offering on top of this is more practical, domestic (i’m about to sound sexist, i know it lol) skills that will make Carole and Nicky less vital to the group (if of course they are both vital). If a good looking young male is sent into the mix at some point the girls could find themselves sidelined; female support for them could quickly vanish. They could easily find themselves in the position BB7 Jennie occupied, only in reverse. Jennie entered via the HND scenario but failed to achieve any public support. She was unable to compete with Glyn who had 3 huge advantages over her; being male, occupying an established and well defined role, having the production backing his story. I could be totally off target but i get the feeling from both the HL show and BBLB so far that Chanelle could be this years young favourite with the producers. Personally i prefer all 3 ahead of almost all of the other HM’s, although it is still early days with the 2 new arrivals. With yet another manipulated eviction process this week we could see one of these youngsters making an early exist. With a smouldering summer ahead of us, and hopefully some active tasks, it would be a shame to lose any of them so early. |

Of course, had Emily not eliminated herself so early she would have figured in this scenario. Although she could have been the first evictee regardless, given the fact that she was already nominated.

The Twins appear to have one huge advantage, they are so blinkin' nice! The only way they can realistically get nominated will be for a lack of contribution in the household. Chanelle could also be nominated on these grounds, but should they be up are the public likely to be more favourable towards the Twins?

The Twins now have an opportunity to eliminate Chanelle, will they take it and would it be a smart move to take it at this stage?

Does Chanelle have enough public support if she is up for eviction this week?

Depends who she is up against really. I think Chanelle has quite a lot of support but quite a lot of haters who just see the VB obsession and the WAG thing. She's a lot more than that IMO and is a really entertaining housemate.

No, in fact, Chanelle is more entertaining.
I like the twins better because they are not bitchy or argumentative. They are glad to be there in the BB house and show it. They are so sweet and really balanced. I like Chanelle a lot too but she gets stressy so easily. Saying that, they are all in my top 4, along with Ziggy! |

I think that who they nominate will be a surprise to us all, as they have not argued with anyone or bitched about anyone yet. They have basically been having a good time and observing so it will be interesting! |

I'm looking forward to seeing them nominate as they have not been placed under any pressure so far.

I don't think the twins will nominate Chanelle, I certainly hope not anyway as they do seem to get on as they are the same age.

I'm struggling to make a logical guess over nominations. The twins get on with everyone and the newbies are voting on early impressions.

i guess we will find out just how smart- or not, the twins are with there nominations?
if they have half a brain, they will have realised that for themselves and chanelle to reach the last week they have to get rid of charley. once she's gone, the other members of the "skum of the earth" pack will fall like a house of cards (scum of the earth pack = charley, nikki, chab, laura ) obviously |

I would rethink my ideas on their gameplan and take them as serious players if they see her as a threat. Why do you think Charley is a threat to the twins? Is it her background b!tching? |

I suppose if Charley were up this week, she would be out.

No, a lot of soft edits on her crying and being sympathised with by HMs, so she looks nice really, added to nasty scenes of whoever is up against her would save her. C4 cannot let her be voted out the week after Emily is removed for THAT remark, where she was a genuine victim IMO.

Chanelle is yet another aspiring "wife" with no personality, whose interests include - and are exhausted by - hair straighteners, boots and doing nothing. I've nothing particularly against that type, it's just that it so clearly is a type - one which we've seen dozens of times before on BB. And just in case anyone was thinking she couldn't get any less original, she's got herself involved in a slobbery magazine romance. Apart from possibly Laura, she's the most dispensable housemate.
On the other hand, the twins are different from any contestants we've seen before, even putting their twininess aside (though their apparent telepathy is reason enough to keep them in, if only for scientific study). I don't think there's ever been a housemate as consistently upbeat as they are. And considering the abuse they got going in, which most others would be whinging about at every opportunity, this is quite impressive. Chanelle's apparent popularity is completely inexplicable to me. Even intelligent people with a history of good taste seem to like her. Is it because she doesn't get on with Charley? I don't watch the live feed much, so it's possible I missed the bit where she did something worthwhile. If this is the case, I'd be interested to hear what it was. Anyway, however well she's polling at the moment, it's unlikely she'll outlive the twins. Her rivalry with Charley won't have much residual effect once the latter gets her marching orders this week or next. Meanwhile, the twins aren't featuring much on the highlights, which is important in the early stages for housemates to last the distance. And if nothing else, "Samanda" have the in-built advantage of a split vote. |

The next eviction will tip the balance of power to the good side (twins-chanelle/zig) or the evil side (charley-nicky/laura/shab) edit, the rest of the housemates are floaters and somewhat irrelevant in the struggle for power in the house IMO |

Interesting topic. I too am struggling to see who the twins will nominate, and indeed who Shauny and Gerry will nominate. I think there will definitely be more than two up this week.
I like the twins, for all the reasons mentioned above. I really expected to not like them at all, the first few days I was ready to go to the house and take them out with a long range missile! Chanelle I am not so sure about. As a housemate on her own she has been interesting and provided some great comedy moments. But as much as BB are pushing, and indeed set up, the romance, I am not sure the viewers see it in the same positive light. Or, indeed, that the housemates are over fond of it. Perhaps they would rather get rid of Ziggy than Chanelle though? Nominations will definitely be interesting this week. And it will also be interesting to see who the viewing public get rid of. I don't really agree that it is in BB's interest to attempt to 'save' Charley this week. And for all the chanting I am not sure she is as unpopular as some chanters would have us believe. You only have to see Aisleyne last year for an example of that. Week after week BB tried to make us think she was unpopular by allowing the chants to be heard. And yet she was top female and came third. As I said, very interesting to see what happens this week. |

I'm fairly confident that the twins will nominate for LOGICAL, (ie non-bitchy) reasons.
Therefore I can see them both nominating Laura as:- a) she eats too much b) she slobs about in bed and does not contribute I see this as a non-aggressive choice. The tactical voting from them will come at a later stage............. |
