Natalie Imbruglia New Album Press Release

Natalie Imbruglia

Glorious: The Singles 1997-2007
Hits Collection Featuring New Bonus Tracks
Released September 10th
New Single ’Glorious’ Released August 27th

With sales of 10 million and a total of 3 years on the UK charts, Natalie Imbruglia remains one of the most critically acclaimed, commercially successful female artists of the last decade. Ten years since the release of her smash-hit debut ‘Left Of The Middle’, she returns on September 10th with ‘Glorious: The Singles 1997-2007’. Her first ever hits collection, it spans all 3 albums – including 2001’s ‘White Lilies Island’ & the Number 1 ‘Counting Down The Days’ – and precedes her eagerly awaited 4th studio LP, due early 2008.

Featuring 9 essential hit singles including the Grammy nominated ‘Torn’ – one of the UK’s Top-100 best-selling singles of all time – it also boasts ’Smoke’, ‘Big Mistake’, ‘Shiver’ – the Number 1 airplay record of 2005 -
‘Wrong Impression’ and ‘Wishing I Was There’.

The highly anticipated collection also features two brand new Natalie-penned songs: ‘Be With You’ and the forthcoming single ‘Glorious’, August 27th. In short, it’s an accomplished anthology of songs – past, present and future. "I have been busy for the last 12 months writing and recording my 4th album, and started reflecting on the past 10 years and all the fond memories I have of that time.” Natalie says. “So, I wanted to put out this singles collection to celebrate it."

Currently working alongside Gary Clark, Daniel Johns, Jamie Hartman, Shep Solomon and Crispin Hunt, the new album is written by Natalie and will be her first new studio LP in 2 years. Produced by Ben Hillier, whose previous credits include Depeche Mode, Blur and Doves, it’s being recorded in London’s Pool Studios.

In 1999, Natalie won the Best International Female & Best International Newcomer accolades at the BRIT Awards. She also won the 1998 Billboard Music Award for Track of the Year and was nominated for 3 prestigious Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Best Pop Album for
‘Left Of The Middle’ and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The tracklisting for Glorious: The Singles 1997-2007 features:

Torn
Big Mistake
Wishing I Was There
Smoke
That Day
Wrong Impression
Beauty On The Fire
Shiver
Counting Down The Days
Glorious – NEW SONG

Apparently Natalie has acting commitments so the new album has been pushed back to early 2008 and this is being released instead to tie everyone over and to get her name out there again.
A bit premature if you ask me, considering she only released 2 singles from her last album and 3 from the one before. Still, i'm sure we'll get a proper greatest hits once she's released a few more albums. All the songs are great though

11 songs seems like a bit of a cop out tbh. Hopefully she will do well with the accompanying single tho...

Despite the fact how much i like her as a person and how infinitely talented she is compared to talentless wastes of space like Gareth Gates(who only has any invisible success for inspiring womens mothering sexual fantasies), considering how wobley her career has gone since the debut album i can't see much chance of her releasing "a few more albums" tbh.

i love some of her singles - she is a lot better than her lack of massive success would suggest

counting down the days, that day, and shiver are all brilliant
