The biggest nomination cop out going.....

"I only voted for x because I thought no one else would vote for them. I'm now feeling so guilty about it I could cry till I make myself sick. I can never look them in the eye again which is a shame as they are a lovely person.
Do the viewers feel my pain ? Do they like me more now ? "

Anyone who says this should be shot !

No seriously, I think you should have your nominating rights taken away as you've admitted that you're not playing the game properly...

Anyone agree ?......

No one normally does.......

exactly, it's the same as saying that you've rated every housemate and you're only nominating somebody because you like them less than the others.

It's a cop out....

Not necessarily. If you despise one person in the house and are desperate to gert them out of the house, but are relatively neutral or positive on all the other HMs, it makes strategic sense to nom someone who won't get a lot of votes.

This was Chanelle's reaction to Seany's leaving. She so much wants to be liked by the viewers and just made herself look hypocritical with her outburst in the Diary Room.
I just wish she would grow up and stop acting like 19 going on 10.

Chanelle and Nicky were particularly nauseating in spouting these clichés last night. Gordon Bennett - I thought we'd left bullsh*t like that behind about four years ago! I know the previous couple of series' had their failings, but at least housemates didn't insult viewers intelligence by coming out with rubbish like that.

Both Pete and Glyn used the same excuse when nomming eachother in the final weel. They finished 1st and 2nd...says it all

I agree with you. Its the most weak reasons for nominating someone and shows lack of courage or backbone.

Charley was the only one with a valid reason for nominating him after he'd destroyed her property with his stupid pranks.

A valid reason doesn't have to be the true one.

Some people just seem to be wilfully cynical where Chanelle is concerned. They refuse to see a joke when she is being humerous, as in joking about Carole giving her the money or asking Jonathan if he will pay for her boob job. Every single comment seems to be seized upon and twisted to fit in with the FM's prejudice. The same happens with other housemates but with Chanelle the whole thing is just taken to extremes. Almost every action has to be seen as contrived in order to help fuel this whole "fake" nonsense, something it's pretty impossible for her to disprove. How do you prove you are not fake?

Personally, I pretty much believe the reason she gave is the reason she nominated Seany. The only person she really has a problem with is Charley. After her she probably didn't know who else to nominate. Her decision was stupid and that is all she was guilty of, stupidity. Her feelings of guilt seemed perfectly natural to me and are borne out by the fact she looked absolutely gutted when Seany left. Brian also seemed to be experiencing the same kind of guilt. I suppose he's fake as well?

Hopefully when it comes to the next round of nominations Chanelle will think a little harder and nominate those who are most likely to nominate her, even if she has nothing against them personally. If I was her I would nominate someone like Tracey who she has not really bonded with.

What nonsense! The worst nominating reason apart from "I thought he needed to go home cos he's missing his wife and kids"

this has gone on for a long time.

It's not directed specifically at Chanelle although she was pathetic in the DR....

Shell also used it after nominating Dan on BB5. I think that in her case it was true though.

Darren in BB1 was the King of the cop-outs. He nominated Craig because he would have to get back and run his business etc. He was always nominating people for their own good, out of consideration for them. He became really predictable.

It's just post-eviction guilt, it means nothing, and is simply a way for HMs who have nominated the evictee (or sometimes merely the 'candidates') to make themselves feel better about how things have panned out.

The excuses they use in this orgy of self-justification are of course arrant nonsense and complete flannel. The urge to assuage guilt (and deflect blame) is an instinctive, self-preservational trait, but I'd argue that few if any of them do it consciously to 'sway the vote', for the simple reason that if one is smart enough to consider manipulating the public in that manner, one should be smart enough to realise that "I only voted for X because I thought they'd be safe" merely makes one look like a fool and garners no sympathy from the public at large.

In short, it's more about making them 'feel better' than 'look good'. That said, it drives me spare everytime one of them says it
