US BB vs UK BB

I typically find UK shows are better than their US counterparts IE The Office. However lately i've been watching the UK BB for the first time and right now i would have to say I like the US version better. I know this is a UK forum so i'll probably get flamed but i would like to hear other fans input. I would love to see my home country Canada have a BB (So i could audition!) http://www.bb8spoiler.com

No flaming from me, all input is good input.
I watched the US version a couple of years ago and it was really good.
I hope we get you're most recent version....

Ooooh i love the US BB, am currently watching series 6 i think it is, how many have there been? Love the tasks they have to do on it, think our own BB could take a few ideas from it

I can't comment to which format is better. They are so different it all depends on your taste. However, I finally was able to watch the UK BB feeds and honestly, they suck. The US feeds aren't perfect, but they don't jump around constantly and don't have nearly as many sound cuts. Also, we get four different cameras. If there is an interesting conversation or fight going on, we can watch it all. The only time they cut away is when they sing (which is discouraged) or talk about people who haven't signed a release form.

Which tasks are those? They have the same task every week! They stand in booths and answer lame questions with a spin-wheel board. The last person in wins!

Exciting.

Yeah, except you're wrong. Each task or competition is different. They may recyle competitions from previous seasons, but never two of a kind in the same season.

I watched it a couple of years ago and couldn't get into it at all.

However one bit I did think was cool was when every housemate had an ex visit the house for a couple of days. They should copy that idea here.

The ones i've seen so far in that series...? I'm only at about ep 4 or so tbf, but the rope task, the red neck snack shack one and the water bottle one, beats watching 13 people dressed as fish lying in gunk....yeah that's really riveting lol.

I like US BB because it carries on after the UK one finishes, so it gives me something to watch to cope with the withdrawal symptoms!

They had a season when ex's were put in the house together, but they didn't visit from the outside. The only time I can remember them having outside visitors was in season 2 when some of the cast from Survivor visited overnight.

I am an avid fan of both, but for me they aren't comparable. They share the same name and a few similar traits, but they are completely different shows. It'd be like trying to compare Survivor and Scrubs!

I'm sure the exes were in the main house for a day or two. I can't have imagined that surely It was between 2002-2004.

Ditto!

I'm watching BB AUS for the first time this year and I'm enjoying that too. It's more akin to the early series of BB UK in the sense that there's less viciousness than there is now and you don't have as much of the wannabee element.

Wow, I've watched every season, including live feeds since season 2 and I sure don't remember that ever happening. Not saying it didn't though, but the whole premise of Big Brother is no outside interaction, so it wouldn't make much sense. I'm not known for my great memory, though.

I prefer the UK version since there isn't really anything else like it on TV here, but you throw a stone in the US and you hit fifty shows exactly like their version. But I do like their version, and loved their BB7. Janelle rocks.

Season 4.

9 houseguests entered the house. About 20 mins later 4 more houseguests entered and they were ex's of 4 of the first 9.

The ex couples were:
Alison & Justine
David & Michelle
Erika & Robert
Jee & Jun

Trust me, your memory is not as bad as mine If it sheds any light on the matter, the only other thing I remember from that show is that there was a housemate called Jack, who was old and a former employee of the FBI...I think.

Here's a summary of when they first moved in. Seems there were 8 at the beginning and the gap was longer than 20 mins.

Hooray for sanity. I remember thinking how thoroughly sensible the guy was and never watched the show again
