Does DS:BB Ruin BB?

I am a big fan of both Big Brother and DS:BB, however i don't think that they work together very well.

DS:BB gives you different viewpoints from what people actually think, Aisylene last year being a good example, on here nearly everyone loved her yet she struggled into 3rd place.

A lot of people seem to spend HOURS of their days watching BB Live and on DS:BB, this surely isnt healthy! And i think that knowing too much can ruin it for you- if BB do edit things badly in an arguement, i'm thinking Carole vs. Nicky about two weeks ago then you know that Carole was in the wrong yet the rest of the country don't. So you can't really join in convo's about BB as you know the opppsite.

And surely, these people who spend hours watching BB and then on here have no surprises when it comes to the BB H/L Show, which is the main focal point on BB, at work people will be talking about it two days after you originally found out.

What do you all think?

(This isnt having a go at DSBB or anyone in particular, just i was on here religiously for the first week and it ruined the first week for me, since then i post maybe once or twice a day on the forum and have subsequently enjoyed the series far more)

I wouldn't call 3rd place a struggle She did beat thousands into the house and got bronze. I wouldn't complain

And this year the forum is ruining the show for me. I've never seen such stupid comments.

I agree, and the cynical nature of so many people on here put you off watching the actual show.

'Aisylene last year being a good example, on here nearly everyone loved her'

I think it was about 50/50 to be fair, she had a lot of haters as well.

Mainly Nikki fans like me.

The people who keep on starting threads about housemates been Racist, Sexist and Homophobic are the people who are ruining these forums.

Far too many PC, over-sensitive people on here. Makes it very hard to read.

I think this series it has been the worst on here. I only really check the daily highlight show threads.

oh no, i would say DS:BB makes BB for me, there are many times i actually prefer to logon here, and see what's going on than actually watching BB

This year i am finding watching BB not as exciting or enjoyable as last year, however i still love to talk about BB, and because there are so many people here who enjoy to do the same i will always have DSBB

I would have stopped watching the show by now if I didn't know about these forums due to the constant arguments caused by Charley.

I really enjoyed DS BB last year and Cbb (apart from the race row) mainly beacuse I loved the one liners threads. This year there is no funny character and this is reflected on the forum.
On the whole a lot of posters do take BB so very seriously and often forget that it is a game and spend their time bitching about people bitching.
How on earth can C4 condense a 24 hours into a 1 hour programme - its impossible. This leads to Live feeders feeling that their favourites are hard done by which increases their support for their chosen housmate.
I wouldn't say that DS BB spoils the programme but it sometimes tries to control what BB does, sometimes with very good suggestions and sometmes not.
I have no favourite so far and feel I am unlikely to find one from this lot.

Very much so at times.

I only really come on when the HLs are on, can't be bothered during the day and weekends cos unlike quite a lot on here, I actually have a life away from DS:BB

It disturbs me how some people never seem to off here and just watch BB and comment all day and night.

Also don't like those who watch all day and try to tell people that their opinions are wrong because something happened at like 4am in the morning and then quote something word for word.

So what If I like Charley. So What if you don't. Make your comments and don't try to tell me I'm wrong for mine. The worst being when i say (and I've seen others) "Charley is entertaining" then most times someone will come up with the smart-ass and highly original "Sorry i don't find violent aggression entertaining"

I'm an addict though, can't not come on at least 5 times a week lol despite BB3 and 5 being so good because I only read these boards occassionally and most of what happened was a surprise.

DS:BB is great! It's my first year on here and I'm really liking it. I especially like debating the more, erm, controversial characters in the house!

I agree, the amount of posters who are on her at like 2,3,4 in the morning is just plain weird!

And Live Feed is dull!

Aisleyne was only a couple of percent behind Glyn if I remember rightly?

And the Sun was holding a 'vote glyn to win' campaign the day off the final!

Hardly a struggle!

I spend a lot of time on the forum even tho I am not watching the programme very much. I tend to stay away from the controversial threads because I prefer to have a laugh. I follow the Bertie Bassett letters thread - if you are ever depressed this is a good cure - who needs pills!!

I wouldn't criticise people who spend a lot of time on the forum because for me , suffering from claustrophobia/agoraphobia, it can be the only way to communicate with other people when you are having a 'bad day' and needing cheered up. Also, some people work strange shifts and that can explain why they would be on the computer when the rest of us are tucked up in bed.

Can I just say thanks to all the FM's who don't take it too seriously and give me a good laugh with their 'one-liners'

Lets get things in perspective. 99.9% of the public who watch BB dont know DSBB exists, and 96.8% of the people who vote dont know DSBB exists.

I've been posting since BB2 and it's good to hear other peoples opinions, I flit in and out as a working mum of 3 and also doing a degree part time so I appreciate being able to catch up in about half an hour.

What annoys me is when you get half a dozen threads on the same subject....

I have to say that this year, I am finding the show funny and entertaining and yet I come here and its just the same old same old - "how I justify my use of racist/homophobic/etc. language" , or "no one should ever use an abusive term ever under any circumstance ever", "BB N (every single year for N between 2 and 8) is rubbish" and that great favourite "X ruins the show" or "the show is would be rubbish without X". Every discussion is so absolute - A or Z - no other choice. The trouble is there is nothing else this year. This place used to be interesting now it is a stuck record.

So yes. I think the answer is to turn one of them off.....DS or BB.

What you seem to be saying is too much knowledge is a dangerous thing. I don't agree. I watch the live feed and debate the issues on the Forum. I watch the highlights and get angry at the edit.

I am very healthy. I have a very full life filled with lots of interests and this is one of them.

To those who don't like the Forum then they can find another or cease completely. Thank you for your concern.

Well, I think being (reasonably) critical of... "anywhere" is not (ahem) unreasonable? The "why come here if your not into a cult-like [teasing!] acceptance", depresses me.

But I still find "the media" interesting, and many folk write WELL here, on that very topic. Sadly, I sense there's a lot of BB forumites with their own (repetative!) agendas. And frankly these can be be tacked onto ANY forum topic. What does amaze me is the aspiring(?) spin-doctors types who seem to achieve such "fame" among gullible acolytes! I guess the ability to string together a modest sentence is at a premium, during any (active) BB series...
