BT Homehub regularly dumps one user
I have to look at a problem that a colleague is experiencing with a BT Home hub setup, they have 3 PC's connected to it.
The problem is that one of the PC's seems to lose its' connection to the hub if there is no traffic for 15 mins or so, if the PC is downloading or connected to any "real time" site then the connection stays up. After the disconnect the PC needs to be re-booted to connect again. The only difference between this PC an the other 2, which work correctly all of the time, is that it is connected to both the wireless and wired connections. Having said that, if either one is disconnected the problem still exists. I have similars set ups with systems connected to Netgear WAP's and routers and have never seen a symptom like this, some things point to the home hub others to the PC,. Any ideas anyone or has anyone seen this before? Thanks |

At first I was going to say that this was a power saving parameter in your wireless network adaptor configuration on the one PC.
Since it also happens on a wired connection then I would first check in IE Tools on the Connections page to see if there was a connection profile set up in there. If there is it may have an idle timeout set. |
