Strange things my pet has eaten

I saw this thread on another forum and thought I would start one here.

My cat tonight helped me polish off some naan bread to my surprise and I had a cat that used to love yogurt, ice cream, pasta, cheese well pretty much anything really...

What odd things has your pet eaten over the years?

Oh and can we try and keep this a bit cheerful and upbeat and no horrific stories of animals dying a painful death cos of things they accidentally ingested please?

My nephew was over at our house a few months back, and he was playing in the garden. We found out that he had a poo in one of the dog's bowls and our dog ate the whole lot.

I used to have two cats *pinkie* and *Puss puss*

They also had a fetish for Indian food and would polish off pompadoms and madras curries..... They would also eat cheese, peas, spaghetti hoops. nearly anything really tho turned their noses up at cat food...

My dog Emma will eat just about anything and everything. The worst thing she has eaten, I won't even mention, and she is partial to a dead crab or two if she finds them on the beach.

my gang of 9 kitties between them one of them will like it!

chinese food anything as long as there is sauce mixed in.
pizza as long as its got some meat on it and its cut into little bits
Tuna Sandwich mix (erg it had peppers and onions in it)
Egg n Bacon Sandwich mix
Cheese
Bread/doughnuts/cakes thrown out for the birds
partly cooked sausagemeat
sausage rolls (pastry and all)
steak fat
and little Scamp loves fish with crumbs on (none of the others will touch it) and he takes it from my fingers!

No they aren't hungry - I spend a LOT (well out of my budget its a lot) feeding them! The list above are treats - they get crunchy stuff for brekkie and 3 tins of meat between them and more crunchies before they go to bed!

My own cat will barely even look at his expensive cat food never mind the list!

My dog (a labrador spaneil cross) ate a whole sock when I was little (and I mean a WHOLE sock)

Oh, and one of my ginua pigs ate nearly the whole lawnmower section of the argos catalogue once...

Oooh, where to start? Various of my cats have eaten over the years: Cauliflower cheese, mashed potato, yoghurt by the gallon, chocolate cake, marmalade, toast with anything on it except baked beans, raw eggs, any kind of cooked egg, cheesecake, rice, porridge... You get the picture
As for the dogs, they eat ANYTHING food-wise, plus flowerpots, rose bushes, the front door (and the tabasco I put on it in a pathetic attempt to stop them), the side of a wooden garage (two sides in fact, they were tunnelling out), anything made of sheepskin, flip-flops, my best shoes, hedgehogs (that made me very cross-they don't do that any more), the brushes I use to groom them with, car seats, wax crayons (the technicolour poo I found before I realised was quite frightening ). My lovely Lola is the WORST so far, the lawn is covered in dismembered toys, chewed up plants etc. Lola's Aunt Violet steals tins of catfood and opens them with her teeth.

One of my dogs ( a dobermann) has in the past eaten
- 1. Lots of stones, including one that got stuck in her throat. Needed x-ray!
2. My needle case ( as it contained about 20/30 needles. - X-ray again) fortunately she did not swallow any
3 Sugar flower spray off a brithday cake, including the wires! - another X-ray
4 My passport, including the leather case. All that I found was a couple of chewed pages. Fortunately I had just come back from holiday. She missed the travellers cheques.

5 Four remote controls - what are they made from that dogs find so appetiizing?

Apart from the stones, everything stolen off the table or desk!

Another one ( a sheltie,) has eaten her way into their beds which were full of polystyrene beads - took ages to clear up.
Attacked the walls in the hall - eating the wallpaper off
Pinched a book on Origami and destroyed it (quite appropriate - when I saw the mess)
Also eaten her way into every one of the chair cushions in the kitchen.

The pair of them also ate their way through two sheepskin rugs

Incidentally, my eldest Sheltie usually 'shops' the others! When I come in the house, if they have been up to mischief - she barks at me until I have discovered the crime!

I must be a glutton for punishment as I now have a 11 week old puppy! She thinks that she can walk on water. She has been in the fish pond three times already!!
