CR3 has arrived in Colchester.

Quite like the look, but as someone who doesn't use the on-screen guide much it won't make much difference until we get access to some decent interactive services.

Its just a stepping stone hopefully.

Yep just woke up in rainy Colchester, switched on the box and I have to say I love it. Accessing interactive is much faster - the colours are much easier on the eye. So far I have no complaints - only good things to report about it.

But sorry abun880007x I cant find the software version number through the help button so cant post that.

Now lets see if NTL can get the "red button" sorted for the start of Big Brother (I was always jealous with Sky users when this show was on in the past)

I've looked all around it and it seems they've not printed the software version number on it. So that kind of sorts that out.

With nothing on-screen (other than the TV picture, obviously), try pressing page up, and page down, then blue on the remote. On the Bromley software that beings up a window with some diagnostic info in, including the software version.

Yes - PageUp, PageDown, Blue does work to access the customer diagnostic screens, which include the version number.

The version number is 3_1_P12. But why would you care?

I got the following response from an email that I sent to NTL through the contact us form on their website:

Quote:
We are monitoring the success of the pilots in Swansea and Colchester. As soon as these have completed we will be able to release the roll out dates for the rest of Langley. Currently we have no plans to launch the service in other areas as of yet.

I assume it's a reference to the Starship Enterprise (the small one shown in the last couple of films).

They do a bit don't they. I bit like that colour everyone seemed to be decorating their houses with in the late 90's.

Not very nice. I assume that's just the scan quality though because someone posted the same ones on here last week and they looked a lot darker.

To be fair, they're somewhere between the two. A light blue really, not dissimilar to the background of the menu bar at the top of DS pages.

those cant be images of the public release of Lcr3 because on the mini guide the date is Thursday 28th when it hadnt been rolled out and the screen shots look very like the ones in the information booklet. Probably a poor scan of the booklet
