How long you been unable to record Box Office Sports events to DVD?

Bit surprised this evening when I came to record the David Haye boxing that my DVD Recorder wouldn't record. How long as this been the case? Used to always tape the boxing and wrestling events but tonight all I got was Copy Protect on my DVD display and it sat there.

This by connection by hdmi?

Can't see how it can be done by scart and other means which I won't mention but never had a problem recording something for later on either SBO or VM's VOD.

The SCART and composite outputs have Macrovision applied on them if the material is copy protected, which is the same system that used to be used on some pre-recorded VHS cassettes. It's a primitive analogue-based system, and much easier to defeat than the HDCP used on HDMI links.

Didn't record a HD stream, so was going to record via scart. Never used to have a problem with WWE events or Boxing in the past recording the live showing. I know in past I've been unable to record recordings if I've Sky+ them. Didn't think to try recording by the RF connection to the DVD Recorder,

I've never in recent times been able to copy WWE Sky Box Office events without some er, engineering!

The WWE shows on Sky Sports are fine.

When I had a normal SKY+ box I used to be able to record Box Office events onto DVD (via scart) with no problem.

But when I switched to HD last summer I noticed that I could no longer do this. I got the "copy protect" error on my DVD Recorder when I tried it (again via scart, exactly as before).

But I can record them onto a video with no problems at all. This isn't the best of quality though of course.

It's annoying but I've just learnt to live with it.

all box office events are in macrovision,so when you record the picture is aufull,so there is noway to record from box office until they come to normal channels then you can record fine.

Well I have found there is some engineering to help you get around the problem. Need to order some special leads.
