Really nice to find a place where everyone enjoys the love story between Christian and Syed as I looooooooove them both loads and have been enjoying reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on it.
I decided I wanted to register so I can share my obses....I mean enjoyment of this storyline, so it's lovely to find some fellow appreciators

I have to say that as this story develops my feelings slightly change towards the characters. I loooove both Christian and Syed but I think I have always had a soft spot for Syed because of the difficult situation he is in. However this week I think Christian has been amazing and really understanding towards Syed so I would have to say that currently Christian is my fave

I know exactly what you mean. I think our changing opinions show that the characters are developing, and I love how seeing them struggle individually is bringing them closer together as they try and comfort one another.
Personally, I'm also more of a Syed girl, but I just adore Christian, he's so funny!

Yes I think it will just take just one of his puppydog eyed looks to melt me and have him back as my favourite once more! (I'm easily won )
I would just love Syed to instigate some affection.....I mite be wrong but I would say it is almost always Christian who does and I hope over the next few weeks we see him let his guard down some more

Oh, so would I! I was really hoping Syed would be the first to say the big 'I Love You' but, being honest, I guess I knew it would be Christian. Syed is definitely becoming more relaxed around Christian judging by what we saw in the cafe. Hopefully, he'll be even more comfortable now he knows that the blackmailing is over. Or he could go the complete opposite way and be more reserved now somebody 'close to home' knows. If any of that makes any sense, lol

Yes I think this may be the episode that Christian shows Lucy some emails that prove it couldn't be Syed who mugged her (altho I would have thought the fact that he didn't find out til several days after she was mugged is surely proof enough!)

It would be lovely for Syed to instigate some affection but in a way he can't, while he's still going to u-no-wot (the 'm' word) Amira. He probably feels he can't say the ILY words either, it wouldn't be fair if he can't offer Christian a future with him.

It bugs me a bit when people say Syed is stringing Christian along. He's not at all. He's always said how it is and was prepared to stand aside when Christian dumped him and went with that other guy. Christian instigated that wonderful alleydrag (thankyou Christian!) and got them back together and I don't think Syed would have. That's why I can't see him being the one to make a first move.
But it would be wonderful if they got to a place where he felt comfortable enough to do that. I'd love to see it too.

Yeah, that annoys me, as well. He has only said once that he'd end things with Amira, and when he didn't, Christian dumped him. He's made the situation clear enough, and has made it obvious that he'll let Christian get on with his life if he wants to. If he kept promising he was going to dump Amira, not get married, tell his family and then never did, he'd be stringing him along. But he never has. Christian's well-aware of how things are.

I have no idea how Christian can be with someone who has every intention of getting married in less than two months, but that's another issue entirely. I know he's taking what's on offer and he loves Syed, but it must hurt so much. I suppose being with Syed even though he's getting married is better than not being with him at all in Christian's eyes. This has to come up as an issue, soon, because it's getting weird that Christian has had so little reaction to this. By the looks of things, he's actively taking part in the planning of it as well. I'd rather kill myself than plan the person I love's wedding.

He probably does hope that Syed will fall in love and eventually be prepared to finish things with Amira, or maybe like Syed he hoped thier feelings would fade...he hasn't had a long term relationship either has he, so he might think that. I think more likely he's just trying not to think about it at all because he just wants to be with Syed. Same for Syed. And as it gets closer hopefully we will see them both desperately realising they just want each other!

I really hope Syed gets to a point where he wants to stop the wedding but for whatever reason (Zainab and the baby maybe) he can't.

Indeed it does. I think the writers want to keep us in suspense a little longer so I reckon Syed won't say the big ILY until much nearer the reveal. I am muchly looking forward to Christian saying it tho

There are only 2 times I can think when Syed insitgates the affection 1. their first kiss 2. In Christian's flat when he pushes Syed's hand away after he was beaten up (so maybe this put Syed off doing so again?!)
I think you make a valid point, I guess part of the reason that there is this noticeable difference in how affectionate they are, is the fact that there is a difference in the two boys personalities. Also there is a noticeable difference in how comfortable they are within themselves and I guess the writers are using the lack of affection by Syed at times to show that he is still 'working' things out in his own head.

Yeah, that is very true. You've got to wonder how this looks to the casual viewer who isn't watching every scene with their eyes on stalks.

It's perfectly obvious to me that Syed's as smitten with Christian as Christian is with him. Notice how when he got blackmailed, he never even considered the possibility of ending it. (One magazine took a new spin on it and said 'Syed would do anything to avoid giving up Christian' instead of the standard 'Syed would do anything to avoid his family finding out', which was nice.) I think that as well as the shame and pain it'll cause his family, there's a distinct possibility that Syed believes it will force him to give up Christian.

Yes, me too. I don't think this is wishful thinking, either. I really think that's what the 'I love you' and his moodiness leading up to the wedding is getting at. I wouldn't be surprised if Syed was about to tell Amira, and in typical EE fashion, his phone rings and it's Masood telling him to get to the hospital.

Someone said that Christian is in denial about the wedding, just as Syed is in denial thinking the wedding will 'fix things' and I think it's very true.

And what do you mean we're 'above average'? I'm just a casual viewer, me!

I don't really think the first kiss was Syed. In the unaired version, maybe, but the aired version was very equal.

Oh, and after Christian's been beaten up, Christian is going to ring Roxy to go out for him, and Syed puts his hand around Christian's wrist and says 'I'll do it'. I LOVE that moment.

didnt they kinda address it in christian chat with lucy though .. who he is or isnt ... who he loves or doesnt ... there was a time when people like me where beaten, blackmailed, bannished... doesnt he think thats where syed is......

at the moment christian knows syed is not ready to address anything... but he loves him enough to wait ..

There's not much time left, though. That's the thing that's bugging me- not that Christian's willing to wait until Syed's ready, which is perfectly reasonable and lovely, but there's less than two months to until the wedding. Syed really doesn't have much longer to make up his mind before he's truly trapped.
