yep i wasent fussed either way about brian last year lmeo camilla was always my favouite pro so i thought due to the fact that i have seen ian dance (with camilla obv) a lot been to a lot of their shows ! i thought ian would be who i was supporting this year but ali's sincertity and sweetness won me over to both her and brian !

Nows my time to confess that while i love Ian Camilla was my least favourite pro I really liked her as a person and as a teacher and choreographer (two of my all time favourite dances are Toms showdance and James Tango) but i couldn't stand her wide open mouth when she danced

Its one of the things that irritates me about Natalie and Chris this year. I know Brian has done it a few times this year too (noticeably in the QS) but for some strange reason it doesn't bother me when he does it - i've no idea why sure why ()

I'd still go and see her dance though. I'm jealous you live somewhere that allows you to see them often!

I noticed on twitter someone asked Brian why some of them danced with their mouths open and he replied with 'because some of us do' or something like that. It made me lol - stern Brian again

I can't wait to see how their VW is going tomorrow, hopefully if Ali's foot is getting better, they'll be right back at the top of the leaderboard with a nice romantic VW (shouldn't be too hard to be romantic given the pics we've seen this week!), and it'll be great to see Ali and Brian doing an elegant VW at the home of ballroom dancing.

I thought she looked exquisite in the QS, but this is going to be even prettier I reckon.

Apart from the hideous piece of blue in the MJ group dance, I think all of Ali's dresses have suited her well.

I think all her dresses have been gorgeous. My favourite was her jive dress. Absolutely loved that one and i liked how they did her hair and make up that week too. Sometimes i think they have no idea how to style her hair!

Kelly's dress looked good on her (though not so keen on the dance), but I think Ali will look better in Alesha's dress pattern. Actually, Ali will look fab in absolutely anything, bar ugly blue yuck in MJ dance

That clip (and his blog when he talks about Ali) just brought it home a bit more that he has a lot more going for him than many seem to believe.

I must admit i worry about Brian reading the forums. Hes certainly the type who will when hes so active on twitter and FB. Hopefully hes experienced enough about them to know that everyone receives criticism no matter who they are or how well liked.

Also -- and I think this trips up a lot of people who think they can read like / dislike from the voting results -- a lot of people will vote only for their first favourite, or the one they think most needs the votes. So a couple might not get many votes even if lots of people have them as 2nd fave.

It was a fantastic VW. I've never seen a dramatic VW before or since and thought Brendans choreography was outstanding but it didn't move me probably because i wasn't a fan of Kelly

I'm dreading Ali not doing the tour and Brian being partnered with her What a dilemma that will be

They do have amazing chemistry. I've been interested to read on one of the threads that Brian seems more intense this year compared to last year. I confess that although i loved Brians addition last year i didn't pay as much attention to him as i have this year so i haven't really noticed a difference.

Do you all think hes more intense? The thread speculated that he feels under more pressure this year as he has a real chance with an excellent dancer.

Personally i think its more to do with his flirtiness last year when he was quite open about finding an english rose. Like the youtube clip of him showing us around his flat and he looked down the camera lens and said the bath tub was big enough for 2 *jumps up and down - yes please Brian*

This year it appears hes found his english rose so that flirtiness is missing

Or maybe its a combination of the two - i like intense Brian as much as flirty Brian though

I did like him last year, but not as much as this year. I think that it is all about the partnership. My fav last year was Vince and Rachael.

I think Brendan's choreography was at times inspired that year (the VW, the tango, and, despite the illegal lift, the American Smooth), and I thought it was too bad Kelly had to leave. (I did like her, though.)

(Edit: I also liked Kelly and Brendan's jive an lot.)

I also thought Brian and Kelly's Christmas special jive was very good.

But I know what you mean about the tour. If Vincent, say, were partnered with Natalie, rather than Rachel or Louisa, I'd have the same dilemma. (Hmmm. I kinda have it now. )

... Anyway, I didn't like Brian so much last year, because I thought he tended to out-dance his partner much too obviously. This year, though, perhaps just with more SCD experience, he has that under control and matches his dancing to Ali's very well. Of course, it helps that Ali is so good a dancer.

Thats a good point Veri. I also really like Ricky W and Chris this year but i've never voted for them - however i might do if Ali was knocked out.

I wonder how many Zoe fans had Ali as their second favourite and will pick up the phone so as not to lose their two favourites in a fortnight?

Its easier to see how and why the voting patterns change as the series progresses when you look at it like that.

I personally much preferred Alesha's VW (and it's my favourite ballroom dance of all time) to Kelly's, but Brendan did get the choreography spot on for most of Kelly's dances though he had some bad moments too (their Samba especially). I do hope Ali is doing the tour as I much prefer Ali to Kelly, and the old romantic in me thinks that Ali going on tour would allow the romance to grow (bit like Matt and Flavia in 2008).

The samba was poor because they didn't (for whatever reason) have much practice time, and Brendan had choreographed accordingly.

If I had to pick another VW I liked, it would be Rachel and Vincent's.

Anyway, one of the main reasons I like Ali and Brian is the same as one of the main ones I liked Kelly and Brendan: the choreography, which can be interestingly different. The paso this week, for example. (I also think Ali and Kelly are naturally talented even though they don't always get it right on the night.)

But on the tour, I think Ali would make more sense than Kelly with Brian, since they've danced together so much more. I don't think it's very likely they'd put Kelly with Brian if Ali were doing the tour. They know audiences will like to see partnerships from the show, and K & Brian was a one-off.

And here Ricky W may be soaking up votes like Ray did on DOI. The inbuilt problem is not many fans are going to vote for the competition just to make the race competitive.

Yes, I'm sure he will enjoy the fireworks (hopefully with Ali with him), I often find going to firework displays can be quite romantic (I've done that with my g/f before). I wonder if he'll like the Blackpool Illuminations!
