yea his list was slightly ridiculous. some like connie fischer are barely famous in the uk, never mind the world. lot of the rest are minor fame. legend is so big people just know you even if they don't care for your particular talent. even granny knows who michael jackson is, its a pervasive type of fame you have to have before you can be legendary, not a flash in the pan pop fame which fades fast.

Yep I agree Lyndsey is not too bad in the film I have seen her in and Katie Price is a pair of huge knockers with a face attached and that is all ,though I have to say Katie can match Paris in the marketing herself stakes .

Leona Lewis will have that title some day, you'll see. Alexandra too with the right marketing and songs.

Yes, but nowhere near yet though. If they keep selling albums and singles for a few decades, THEN they'll earn the title of legend. Leona and Alexandra's only just started out as artists. There's most likely people who haven't got a clue who they are. Once they reach the status of 'almost everyone knows who we are', THEN they'll become legends.

Most of the actors/actresses of today are willing to do almost anything just to get that part in a film. Tacky is what a lot of todays' films are the definition of.

Forget those examples, worthless as they are, you're talking past tense above so I'll say The Beatles, Cream, Kinks etc etc.

The person you refer to was OK in pop music as far as that goes, but really as a person he was disturbed.Hardly an icon to look up to- Get real. The man was a dysfunctional mess.

UK has much better people to admire. So does USA come o that. And Katona is not a "legend" in any field at all.Nor are any of the fodder you mention. You logic and argument falls flat right there and then.

Okay, I can only think of 3.
But these ladies are American and Australian... not "homegrown" talent, so the UK isn't offering them to anyone.

yes there are a few people in your list, that could be called legends I suppose.

it just annoys me, the way celebrities with no talent, are referred to as "legends" when they have accomplished diddily squatt.
I don't recall Katie Price or Kerry Katona or any of the 'talentless' lot ever being referred to as a legend or a great!

Please read my whole post! I clearly stated that some of the people in the list could e described as legends. I certainly wasn't inferring that everyone on the list was a legend or ever would be! However, I was pointing out that everyone on my list had talent and was a well-known, home-grown celeb!

As I said to another poster, please read my post properly! Namely, this bit:-

Obviously, not everyone in my list could be described as a 'legend', but a number of them could (and are)

But this thread's about people who currently are legends though. Quite a few people in that list might very well not make the title of legend.
