these comedic standalones are what supernatural isa bout jsut as much as the arc centric ones.

i loved it.

Hiatus looming!

After the Nov. 19th episode 'Abandon All Hope' the show doesn't return until Jan 14th That's two months without the Winchesters

How are we going to cope?

Really two months? Why it such a long hiatus?

I don't know what to make of this season to be honest?

Tonights episode looks awesome though so I will reserve judgement.

Hopefully it means that when it comes back there will be less gaps than usual. The last ever 12 episodes

Hopefully not.

I am really enjoying this series so far. I think th only weakish one was the Paris Hilton one, and even that was OK.

The episodes The End and Free To Be You and Me were brilliant IMO

I agree I'd be more than happy for it to finish at the end of this season. I'm a fan of things actually having a proper end date, it means they're not normally dragged out and the story is told "properly" and finish on a high.

Changing Channels. It started off as a very funny comedy episode and then it became really dark and serious.

Suddenly we have comments on the lack of originality in TV. And you realise that the comedy part is not a homage but biting satire.

Then the final 10 minutes are excellent. The story arc moves on.
The Trickster reveal of who he really is was a real 'wow'
moment. And I don't think that Gabriel and Castiel are best mates, somehow.

Brilliant!

Ha, the satire was definitely biting and all the better for it.

The opening credits will be downloaded so many times on YouTube that that site may crash under the strain

Did Dean understand the question he was being asked on the Japanese gameshow? I don't think he did.

The Trickster's real identity was a real shock.Go Show

I loved Dean's answer to the Trickster's proclamation about Sam & Dean's destiny---"NO"

Poor Sam faced the brunt of the Trickster's ire this time.I guess the Trickster put Dean through enough last time

Love this show!!

Opening credits

This reminded me of so many old US comedies like 'Bosom Buddies(with Tom Hanks) & 'Laverne & Shirley'.

My fave bit is after Sam throws the football to Dean & they both fall over.So cute

So, does anybody know anything yet about when Living plan to show S5 here in the UK? It's driving me mad not knowing and not having any way to find out (their website is laughable). If anyone has any reliable info I'd love to hear it.

"I have genital herpes."

This was waaay better than the past three debacles. Just shows an experienced writer can pull it out of the bag.

I've never watched Gray's or CSI, so missed alot of the in jokes. The incessant indie background music in the Gray's skit was bloody annoying though.

Must've been good fun for the boys to film though. Didn't think the Japanese game show was funny and because the boys didn't know what the questions were answering it seemed pretty pointless too.

Can't wait for Abandon All Hope - I'm hoping this one will be serious. Seriously.

I love Supernatural!! My only complaint about this season thus far is its a bit of an anti-climax. I mean they've done the biggy... you don't get much bigger than rising Lucifer! And then... nothing. No frogs raining from the sky... nothing. What's he been up to?
The past few eps have been fine but would have been more suited for earlier seasons when they didn't have ultimate bad guy Lucifer supposidly destroying the Earth while Dean goes aging away. However... this episode was superb!!! Loved everything about it!!!
God that's a long hiatus!!! Jesus... only 12 episodes left in 2010?? I didn't realize!!! All the best shows are ending next year! Apart from my complaint this has still been the best season they've done and I hope they keep up the good work!

That's the complaint a few people are making. Nothing against the quality of the episodes, just the timing of them.

I'm partly going off this now....I just get the impression they are running out of ideas.

Supernatural is fast becoming from one of my main watched shows to if theres nothing better on....I'll watch it lol

Is this really the last series? Just read Vamp D got 4.21 mil which is on an hour before on the same channel and supernatural only got 2.71m so lots are switching off over there.

I hope it comes good, the lads are good to watch.

Vampire Diaries is new & deals with, guess what, vampires, so all the little 'Twilight' fans are watching it.Also, at 9pm, Supernatural is on at the same time as a couple of other major shows so people are DVR-ing it and watching it later. The DVR numbers are counted in the final tally for the ratings and Supernatural is still doing pretty good for a show in its 5th season

That comment = fail if you did a little research lots of Twilight fans have boycott Vamp D because they assume its a rip off. Also why not DVR other shows and watch supernatural.

But I am gald you pointed out in that smarta$$ comment that Vampires Diaries is actually about Vampires I would have never guessed it.

ouch!! everyone get their claws back in please this is a thread about supernatural!! start a thread about VD () and move it there thanks

im glad Eric Kripke is lightening up the show because all that doom n gloom would just turn the viewers off. IMO some light relief is welcome and i'm sure lucifers gonna come back in a big way, the character, while trying to tempt Sam, said he couldnt sustain Nicks body for too long thats why he needs him. i'm dreading the final episode i dont wanna see Sam fighting Dean (well unless they were in a ring with some baby oil or something hehehe )
